    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a p-terphenyl compound mixture useful as a charge transport agent which is improved in cracking of a problem characteristic of the properties of photoreceptors by enhancing the solubility in organic solvents and which can attain electrophotographic photoreceptors having high sensitivity and high endurance and an electrophotographic photoreceptor using the compound mixture.SOLUTION: The p-terphenyl compound mixture includes two types of symmetric p-terphenyl compounds represented by formula (1) and the like (wherein R, R, R, R, R, R, R, and Rare each hydrogen, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aralkyl group, a halogen, a disubstituted amino group or a substituted or nonsubstituted phenyl group; and each pair of Rand R, Rand R, Rand R, and Rand Rmay jointly form a ring, provided that in the group of the substituents R, R, R, and Rand the group of the substituents R, R, R, and R, at least one substituent or substitution position is different from the other substituents or substitution positions in each group) and an asymmetric p-terphenyl compound mixture having the group of the substituents constituting the compound; and the electrophotographic photoreceptor contains the compound mixture.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction charging member which has excellent heat resistance (high decomposition temperature and fusing point) and high electrostatic charging effect and is free of a load on environment since the member does not contain metal such as chromium. SOLUTION: The friction charging member contains on its surface a compound represented by a general formula (1). In the general formula (1), X 1 represents a fluorine atom, a fluorine substituted alkyl group, or a fluorine-substituted alkoxy group. Further, X 2 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a halogenated alkyl group, or a halogenated alkokxy group.
