    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound monitoring device having a simple structure which can detect a plurality of sounds each of which has different frequencies and identify the frequencies.
      SOLUTION: The sound monitoring device comprises a sound detecting part 1 having two vibrating reeds each of which has different resonance sound frequencies and the ranges of the sensitive sound frequencies thereof are partially overlapped and two piezoelectric element parts change the vibration into a signal, a reference curve storing part 22 storing a reference characteristic curve obtained by dividing a characteristic curves indicating a relationship of the frequency and sound pressure level of the each reed, a dividing part 23 calculating a dividing sound pressure level by mutually dividing the inputs of the sound pressures of a sound source measured by the piezoelectric element parts, and a frequency analyzing part 25 identifying sound frequency of the sound source using the reference characteristic curve stored in the reference curve storing part by inputting the dividing sound pressure level obtained by the sound dividing part and the sound pressure level obtained by the piezoelectric element parts.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a buoy for measuring tsunami which can obtain necessary characteristics, by improving the degree of freedom for designing the kinetic characteristics of its wave height detecting section.
      SOLUTION: A buoy for detecting tsunami is provided with a wave height detecting section A which detects the fluctuation of wave heights, an equipment and material mounting section B which is provided separately from the detecting section A and on which the equipment and materials required for detecting wave heights are mounted, and a connecting section C which is connected to the mounting section B while the section C supports the detecting section A in a state where the detecting section A can be moved in the vertical direction. Since the wave height detecting section A and equipment and material mounting section B are separated from each other and the movement of the detecting section A is not limited by the mounting section B, the degree of freedom for designing the kinetic characteristics of the detecting section A is improved and a buoy having necessary characteristics can be constructed. In addition, the accuracy and service life (operating hour) of the buoy can be improved, because the size of the mounting section B can be increased while the detecting section A is maintained in the optimum shape.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buoy for measuring tsunami which can be improved in tsunami detecting ability without receiving any influence from waves.
      SOLUTION: In a buoy for measuring tsunami, a horizontal fin 23 is attached to the upper surface of a balance weight 22 fixed to the lower end (underwater) of a bar-like buoy main body 21 having buoyancy. Since the horizontal fin 23 functions as a resistance plate that stabilizes the buoy main body 21 in the vertical direction against ordinary waves, the influence of the ordinary waves on the main body 21 can be minimized. Since the fin 23 also functions as a detecting plate for efficiently grasping the movement of a water mass at a deeper portion of the bottom face of the main body 21 while having a certain degree of cross-sectional area against tsunami, the buoy can more easily grasp the wave height of tsunami and wave height detecting ability of the buoy for tsunami can be improved.
