      SOLUTION: The X-ray CT scanner is provided with an X-ray source to irradiate X rays to a subject, an X-ray detector arranged opposite to the X-ray source and giving the output of X-ray image data based on the X-ray penetrating the subject, and an X-ray image reconstruction means to produce an X-ray CT image from the image data obtained by the rotation of the X-ray source and X-ray detector. In the case when the subject includes at least a pair of high X-ray absorbent materials likely to produce artifact on its images, the image data itself is provided with a detection means to detect the differences of the X-ray source from the X-ray detector used for the subject, and an artifact correction means that prepares the X-ray CT image in the image data detection region extended up to the region including one X-ray absorbent material in response to the differences obtained by the detection means and corrects the artifact generated across the pair of high X-ray absorbent materials based on the prepared X-ray CT image.
