    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition carrying out printing on plain paper without cockling, having excellent water resistance of prints and excellent fixability for a printing medium such as glossy paper subjected to a cationic treatment and reducing a change in optical density and hue after drying in coated paper.
      SOLUTION: The ink composition comprises at least a pigment, a resin and a solvent. The ink composition is characterized as comprising a hydrocarbon solvent as a main solvent in an amount of 50-100 wt.% based on the whole solvent and an anionic resin composed of a graft copolymer having silicone-containing graft moieties and acidic groups as a resin in an amount of 0.5-20 wt.% in the ink composition. Furthermore, the ink composition is composed as follows. The number-average molecular weight of the silicone-containing graft moieties of the anionic resin is within the range of 500-10,000 and the acid value is within the range of 10-200 mg KOH/g. Furthermore, the weight-average molecular weight is within the range of 5,000-100,000 and the molecular weight distribution is within the range of 1.5-10.
