    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve interconnection between a full synchronous type network of prior art and frame communication network of a next-generation type, that is needed for transition to a next-generation packet network and wide-area connection services. SOLUTION: A network, which is composed of two or more information relaying apparatuses each of which has one or more line interfaces, uses data packets to execute communication between the information relaying apparatuses, and has a means for controlling a path through which the packets pass between the optional edge points in the case of communication between two optional points in the network. The communication path control means adopts a hierarchical logic path control method including: a first communication path management function terminated at the end points of a communication interval and carrying out communication management of a connection level; and a second communication path management function terminated by each communication interval between optional information relaying apparatuses adjacent to each other included in the communication interval, and carrying out communication management by each interval of a physical line or logical line.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To download data corresponding to each of a plurality of home devices on an Ethernet (R)) network from an intra-station device.SOLUTION: A communication system 10 comprises a home device 20 and an intra-station device 50 which are able to transmit and receive Ethernet frames. The intra-station device 50 includes: a download control unit which downloads download data to the home device 20 by dividing the data into a prescribed size of data blocks; a vendor specific OAM generation unit which generates Ethernet OAM frames defined peculiarly by a vendor; and an ANI unit 51 which transmits the Ethernet OAM frames via a prescribed VLAN (Virtual LAN). The home device 20 receives the Ethernet frames via the prescribed VLAN to separate the Ethernet OAM frames, terminates Ethernet OAM frames including each data block, and reconfigures the download data from each data block.
