    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a recording medium used for recording a moving image is a taped medium, photographed images are continuously arranged on a tape always in a photographed order, the photographed images are always stored in a tape unit and it is needed to be done from the head of the tape in order of time when appreciating.
      SOLUTION: A sequential medium such as a tape is not used for recording the moving image but an electronic camera is used, performing recording in a medium which forms an image file of one unit for every photographing of each cut to which random access is made possible such as a hard disk. A large quantity of image files generated upon photographing and having units from several seconds to several ten seconds are automatically classified according to specified conditions of a photographing time range, place and the like and image files in a group are continuously played back in a group unit by a user without feeling presence of each image file.

      SOLUTION: An imaging element 102 includes photoelectric conversion elements 201 two-dimensionally arranged and a transfer path 202 for transferring electric charges converted by the photoelectric conversion elements. A motion detection section 105 detects a motion of the apparatus by using timing pulses whose interval is shorter than an exposure time generated by a time management circuit 106. A drive circuit 103 transfers previous electric charges read on the transmission path 202 by a prescribed distance in response to the detected motion. Then new electric charges converted by the photoelectric conversion elements 201 are read at the interval of the timing pulses and added to the previous electric charges transferred on the transfer path.

A drive circuit 103 transfers previous electric charges read on the vertical transfer path 202 by a prescribed distance in response to the detected motion. Then new electric charges converted by the photoelectric conversion elements 201 are read at the interval of the timing pulses and added to the previous electric charges transferred on the transfer path. A drive mechanism section 109 moves a position of a photographing lens 101 or the imaging element 102 by a prescribed distance in the horizontal direction with respect to the motion in the horizontal direction.
