摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage types of disk devices in a storage apparatus housing two or more types of mingled disk devices having different interfaces. SOLUTION: A storage devise casing mingles an FC (Fiber Channel) disk device 220F having a fiber channel interface with an SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) disk device 220S having a serial interface and houses them. The SATA disk device is connected, through an FC/SATA interface connecting device 233 converting the interfaces, to a fiber channel. In starting up, or the like, a controller 310 automatically confirms a type of each of the disk devices based on an inquiry to a casing management section 241, or each of the disk devices and an address assigned to each of the disk devices to manage a confirmation result. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk array device which is small in size and has high cooling efficiency.
SOLUTION: The device has a disk which records information. The disk is provided with a hard disk drive module 200 in which the length of one side is approximately equal to the diameter of the disk, a battery module 500, an operating module 400, a fan module having a cooling fan, a controller module provided with a control section, a power supply module which supplies electric power to each module, a backboard provided with electric connectors to which each module is connected and a chassis 100 which has an approximately box shape having rectangular openings on the front and the back surfaces. The modules and the backboard are stored in the chassis 100 in which the length of one side of the front surface of the opening is approximately equal to the length of one side of the module 200.

The spring-out of the cartridge type magnetic tape 1 to the side of the opening part B caused by gravity is prevented by the falling-off preventive pieces 5 and the cartridge type magnetic tape 1 is fixed by a force of incapable obstructing the inserting and ejecting operations by the operators.
