摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: a still image having a smaller number of pixels than that of the still image originally obtained by a still image compression method is only obtainable because of conversion from a moving image compression method to the still image compression method, when moving images and still images are mixedly existent, and when timing of a scene a user wants to capture as still image is on the still image during playing back by the moving image compression method.
SOLUTION: When recording a still image data, the data is recorded by both the moving image compression method and the still image compression method, and when capturing the still image during the playback by the moving image compression method, there is provided a decision whether the still image data recorded by the still image compression method and related to the still image data in the moving image compression method exists at the still image capture timing (ST808), and when there is the data recorded by the still image compression method, the data originally recorded by the still image compression method is extracted (ST812).
