    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller which doesn't have input/output points of operation end drive modules fixed and can be reconfigured arbitrarily correspondingly to various auxiliary machines and to provide a plant control system using the same, which has the smaller number of wires.
      SOLUTION: A PDCM (operation end drive module) 200 belonging to a controlling controller 100 is provided with a CPU 202, a non-volatile memory 203, and a serial I/F 204 and transmits and receives serial signals to and from a relevant apparatus as an object auxiliary machine through a serial signal line 300 and an RTB 400. A program of a protection function etc. peculiar to an operation end is stored in the memory 203 of the PDCM 200, and the operation end 500 is held by the CPU 202 in the case of break-down of the controller 100. In the case of abnormality of an air source 510, the operation end is operated to a fail-safe side (full open/full close). Since input/output points of the PDCM 200 are not fixed with respect to hardware, functions can be extended and changed arbitrarily.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce a required storage quantity by compressing data while accumulating respectively in X and Y directions. CONSTITUTION:A picture in the usual state in a prescribed monitor area is inputted by an ITV camera 1 and a pre-processing circuit 3 implements pre- processing such as smoothing to eliminate noise. Then a projection distribution arithmetic operation 4 accumulates the processed picture in X and Y directions respectively to obtain the projection distribution in the X and Y directions. The result of the distribution averaged in the X and Y directions respectively is used for a reference projection distribution of the monitor area and it is stored in a reference projection distribution memory 5. A comparator discrimination circuit 8 compares a prescribed threshold value set for each object with a projection distribution in each direction and when the setting value is exceeded, it is discriminated that there is any change in the monitor area and an alarm is raised. Thus, data for each picture element are not entirely stored but the data are compressed through accumulation in the X and Y directions by one line each thereby reducing required storage data quantity.
