      CONSTITUTION: Magnetic heads 6, which read and write information on a magnetic disk 1, are arranged on respective magnetic disks 1, and fixed with a gimbal 7 and a head arm 8 to a carriage 10. The carriage 10 can shift smoothly on the guide by a roller 9, and is shifted and positioned by a coil 11 and a magnetic circuit 12. A spindle 5, a carriage guide part and the magnetic circuit 12 are fixed to a base 13, and closed tightly with a cover 14. A hole 24 for supplying clean air and a hole 25 for exhaust are installed at a cover 14, and clean air filtered by an air filter 15 to a hole 24 for supply is supplied into the device by a blower 16.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the precision of follow-up trucks for read and write actions preventing the vibration of a head by providing a switching method in a closed loop for a servo and controlling a loop gain automatically according to the action condition. CONSTITUTION:A position detector 5 detects the difference of the vibration between each truck signal in an output 4 of a servo head 3, and a position error detecting circuit 6 obtains the deviation of a head from the center of the truck on the basis of the amplitude difference and generates a control signal according to the value. This signal drives a voice coil motor 9 through a voice coil driving circuit 8 after operations such as a proportion, advance and delay are carried out by a compensation circuit 7, and a head 3 installed on an arm 10 is moved to the central position of each truck. On the compensation circuit 7, a switching means 11 is provided to increase the gain in the conpensation circuit 7 at the read and write action and to decrease it on the waiting according to signals from a control circuit 12.

    • PURPOSE:To attain carriage retract by utilizing a voltage generated from a DC motor caused by disc rotation inertia at the disc rotation stopping operation. CONSTITUTION:When the rotation of the disc is stopped, an input relay 3 is brought in the state as shown in broken lines and windings of a motor 4 generates respectively voltages V1, V2, V3 so as to act like a generator. The carriage retract is attained by smoothing the V1, V2, V3 generated from the motor 4 by a rectifier circuit 5 thereby forming a smoothed output voltage V and applying the voltage to both coil ends of a voice coil motor 6. Thus, no accessory such as spring or the like is required for the carriage, no effect is given to the head positioning control at normal operation. Further, the carriage retract operation is attained with a simple circuit not requiring a usual electric power supply.
