    • PURPOSE:To shorten the length of a plunger guiding part of a guide and to improve reliability by forming the joint part of the guide and spring housing by butt welding. CONSTITUTION:The upper part of a drive tube is supported by fitting the front end thereof into the notched part of an upper grid plate to position the tube. The plunger 1 at the top end is, therefore, constructed to be elongated and contracted vertically by using a spring 2 in order to fit the drive type into the upper grid plate. Since the plunger 1 moves to elongate and retreat, an auxiliary plunger part 7 is provided to the guide 3. This auxiliary part 7 is formed to the length shorter than a spacing so as not to comply with the spacing condition possessed by the potential to be generated by the stress corrosion cracking (crevice SCC) generated in the spacing part. The inside diameter of the guide 3 and the inside diameter at the top end of the spring housing 4 are set larger than the diameter in the middle stage of the plunger 1 to take the spacing so as not to comply with the spacing conditions of the crevice SCC. On the other hand, the joint part of the guide 3 and the housing 4 is formed by butt welding to eliminate the spacing structure. The reliability is thus enhanced.

    • PURPOSE:To inspect the position and shape of a cracking, by using measuring terminals arranged in matrix to measure bidirectional potential difference distribution in the perimeter of an inspecting section for an object to be inspected. CONSTITUTION:Terminals 20 concurrently serving for supply of DC current and for measurement of potential difference are mounted by spot welding or the like at equal intervals axially and circumferentially in the perimeter of a weld part 19 of a piping 1. The terminals 20 are grouped into one cable 21 and connected to a measuring device 100. DC current supplied from a DC power source 7 is switched in the polarity with a current polarity converter 8 controlled with a computer 3 through an interface 5 and supplied to a specific terminal 20 through a multiplexer 9. A potential difference between the numerous terminals 20 is measured by a potential difference meter 12 with the selection of a measuring terminal through multiplexers 10 and 11. The potential difference being measured is transferred to the computer 3 through an interface 6, which judges the shape of a cracking from axial and circumferential potential difference distributions of the piping.

    • PURPOSE:To enable accurate control of the position of a probe without the use of a copying sensor, by correcting the scanning origin position of the probe according to the tilt angle of a flaw detection arm even when the flaw detection arm is tilted following 3-D saddle-like changes of an object to be welded and a weld part of a welding object. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic flaw detector 11 is made up of a track 12 provided on a nozzle 9, a driver 13 running on the track 12 and a scanning section 15 for scanning a weld part 10 with a prove 14 at the right angle thereto 10. Moreover, the scanning section 15 is made up of a flaw detection arm 16, a holding section 17, a container 8 and a scan driving section 18 for pressing the arm 16 against a container 8 following 3-D saddle-like changes in the weld part 18 between the container 8 and the nozzle 9. Then, the probe 14 scans the weld part 10 parallel therewith 10 with a driver 13 running on the rail 12 by the scanning section 15 perpendicular to the weld part 10. Moreover, the position of the probe can be corrected and controlled regardless of setting condition of the nozzle 9 of the unit 11 and setting conditions of probe scanning original.

    • PURPOSE:To achieve a smooth flaw detection even for a bend along with the miniaturization of the equipment, by providing a curve copying arm at the tip of a flaw detection arm comprising a multi-stage cylinders is such a manner as to permit free turn relatively to scan the curved surface of a piping for flaw detection. CONSTITUTION:A guide rail A is set on the side of a straight tube 1 of the welding line 3 between the straight tube 1 and an elbow 2 and a moving body 5 is placed thereon 4. A pinion 7 to be driven with a motor for the moving body 5 is meshed with a rack 6 to run the moving body 5 in the circumferential direction of the straight tube 1 on the rail 4. A flaw detection arm 8 comprising multi-stage cylinders is mounted on the moving body 5 with a pin 14 in such a manner as to be movable freely with respect to the moving body 5. A probe holding section 9 is provided at the tip of the arm 8 in such a manner as to turn freely with respect to a guide bar through a pin 15 while a probe 10 is provided at the tip of the holding section 9 in such a manner as to turn freely with respect to the holding section 9 by a gimbals mechanism 11. When an inspection is performed near the welding line 3, the circumferential scanning on the probe 10 is done by running the moving body 5 on the rail 4 while the axial scanning is performed with the extension or contraction of the arm 8 thereby accomplishing a smooth flaw detection.

    • PURPOSE:To spot a fault position with high precision even if an object body has a curved tube part or unevenness such as weld strain by detecting the specific angle of a flaw detection arm supported pivotally on a moving body and calculating the position of flaw detection. CONSTITUTION:The rotary encoder of the moving body which moves along the outer periphery of a straight tube 1a under the guidance of a guide rail 2 detects the angle alpha of oscillation of the flaw detection arm 4 equipped with an ultrasonic probe 6 atop while supported pivotally on the moving body 13 through a pin 14. Vertex positions of the triangle formed of the weld line 13 at the boundary between the straight tube 1a and curved tube 1b and the straight line connecting the center of curvature of the arm 4 and tube 1b and the contact point of the contactor 6 with the tube 1b, etc., are calculated on the basis of the angle alpha, thereby deciding on a fault position with high precision. Further, the angle beta of inclination of the probe 6 is detected by a rotary encoder provided to a probe holding part 5 and even if the object body has unevenness such as weld strain, etc., the fault position is spotted with high precision.
