    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable data transmission insusceptible to multi-path fading or ghost by performing RS coding of transmission data multiple times, and to improve the transmission tolerance without decreasing the transmission amount of data by efficiently utilizing auxiliary data to be used in an OFDM modulation system.
      SOLUTION: This data transmission apparatus is one for performing transmission using a main data carrier and an auxiliary data carrier. The apparatus consists of a first coding processing unit for at least applying error correction coding to the transmission data, a second coding processing unit for doubly applying error correction coding to a signal from the first coding processing unit, and a modulating unit for modulating a signal from the first coding processing unit and a double error correction coder from the second coding processing unit. The modulating unit uses the main data carrier to transmit the signal from the first coding processing unit, and the double error correction coding unit uses the auxiliary data carrier to transmit the signal from the first coding processing unit.
