      SOLUTION: The centrifugal separator 101 comprises: a rotor 1 rotatably housed in a chamber 110; a horizontal lift 10 for supporting the rotor 1 when mounting and dismounting the rotor 1; a vertical cylinder (first driving means) 21 for vertically moving the horizontal lift 10 along a vertical guide 20; and a horizontal cylinder (second driving means) 11 for horizontally moving the horizontal lift 10 forward and backward, and further comprises lift operation switches 30 including a raising switch 31 and a lowering switch 32 for vertically moving the horizontal lift 10, and a forward movement switch 33 and a backward movement switch 34 for moving the horizontal lift 10 forward and backward, wherein a slowly lowering switch (slow switch) 35 for slowly moving the horizontal lift 10 is mounted on the lift operation switches 30 so that the horizontal lift 10 slowly moves when tuning on the slowly lowering switch 35.

In this centrifuge 110, a position D (a 4th position) which is nearer to the chamber 110 than the position A is provided and a shortcut motion for moving the horizontal lift 10 between the position C and the position D by bypassing the position A and the position B is performed in a state where the rotor 1 is not supported by the horizontal lift 10.
