    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion apparatus which reliably detects disconnection during driving irrespective of the magnitude and operation state of a current command value.
      SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a power conversion circuit composed of switching elements converting DC power into AC power, a load connected to an output side of the power conversion circuit, a means detecting a DC current flowing in a DC side of the power conversion circuit, a voltage command value generating means controlling an operation of the switching element of the power conversion circuit, and a disconnection detection means. The disconnection detection means determines disconnection of the load or a failure of the switching element of the power conversion circuit by using a DC current detection value in a period when current of a maximum-phase voltage or a minimum-phase voltage in the power conversion circuit flows to DC current.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein applied voltages in three phases differ, when identical high-frequency voltage command is generated on orthogonal two axes and accuracy on the estimation of the position of an initial magnetic pole, using the detecting value of a generated pulsating current deteriorates in a controller and a control method achieving control for a synchronous motor. SOLUTION: When a higher-harmonic voltage is alternated to a positive value and a negative value is applied to the permanent magnet synchronous motor, applied voltage phases are changed over successively at each 120° and are applied in three phases. The pulsating current generated by applying the higher-harmonic voltage is detected at a timing, when a fixed time Δt passes after the output voltage in at least one phase changes from a state in which all the output voltages in the three phases come to the positive values or the negative values. A DC resistance connected to a DC bus or a phase current sensor is used for current detection. A magnetic pole position estimation means calculates the magnetic pole position of the rotor of the permanent magnet synchronous motor, based on the difference between a change amount of the positive side and the change amount of the negative side which are obtained from the detected current value.
