    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid peeling off of an organic material layer. SOLUTION: On a liquid-crystal side surface of one of substrates which are arranged opposite each other across liquid crystal, a plurality of juxtaposed gate signal lines and a plurality of gate signal lines juxtaposed crossing those gate signal lines are formed and a liquid crystal display part is formed of pixel areas encircled with those signal lines. In each pixel area, a switching element which operates with a scanning signal from a gate signal line, a pixel electrode which is supplied with a video signal from a drain signal line through the switching element, and a counter electrode which produces an electric field with the pixel electrode are arranged. At least an inter-layer insulating film is formed of an organic material layer formed over the entire area of the liquid crystal display part, the pixel electrodes and counter electrodes are formed in a beltlike pattern extending having at least one bent part in one direction, and respective pixel areas at the circumference of the liquid crystal display part are areas which do not contribute to display.
