The preliminary excitation torque operation circuit 11 calculates the preliminary excitation torque T using the adjustment elements ΔB, G stored in the EEPROM 13. The adjustment element automatic setting device 20 automatically sets the adjustment elements G, ΔB when variation width of the output torque of the drive motor is within a predetermined width.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter which can reduce the influence of a main circuit current upon control signal wiring even if main circuit wiring includes flat conductors. SOLUTION: The total of a wiring length of a part of control signal wiring which faces a region of main circuit wiring where a main circuit current flows and, further, a plurality of flat conductors overlap each other, a wiring length of a part of the control signal wiring which faces a region of the main circuit wiring where the main circuit current does not flow, and a wiring length of a part of the control signal which is provided outside the end of the main circuit wiring is approximately equal to the total length of the control signal wiring. With such a constitution, the influence of the main circuit current upon the control signal can be suppressed even if the main circuit wiring including flat conductors is used and a power converter which can operate stably and has the high reliability can be realized.
