      SOLUTION: The casing of the electric water heater is composed of a top face part 1, a bottom face part 2, a front face part 3, a back face part 5, side face parts 6, 7, a retreating face part 8, and a space upper face part 9. The retreating face part 8 and the space upper face part 9 are integrated as a piping connection member 4. Front-lower parts of the side face parts 6, 7 are cut corresponding to a piping connection space S (which means a riser). The piping connection member 4 is provided with flange parts 8a, 9a which contact an inner surface of the side face parts 6, 7. The flange part 9a includes an extension part 9b extending along the depth direction over the retreating face part 8. In the piping connection member 4, the extension part 9b of the flange part 9a is fixed to the side face parts 6, 7.
