SOLUTION: This transport apparatus in the tobacco processing industry has a drum 10 equipped with retention elements 12 for retaining items of the tobacco processing industry, wherein each of the retention elements 12 is equipped with at least one retention air passageway 13, the retention air passageway 13 extends into the inside of the retention element 12, and the retention air passageway 13 is connected to the suction air supply source 14 at least tentatively or at least partially. Further, a suction air buffering chamber 11 is used in machinery and equipment of the tobacco processing industry. The transport apparatus is characterized by positioning the suction air buffering chamber 11 between the suction air supply source 14 and the retention air passageway 13.
