摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a baggage management system by which a baggage of a passenger not boarding is removed quickly from an airplane even when the passenger checks plural kinds of baggage and passenger's convenience is improved without increasing cost. SOLUTION: A clerk inputs the number of pieces of baggage 1 by operating an input part 41 for the number of pieces of baggage. A boarding card reading/ writing part 40 reads out boarding information including passenger ID and a fright name and generates baggage ID on the basis of the number of pieces of baggage and the boarding information. A tag issue part 42 issues a tag 10 recording the passenger ID and the baggage ID on it. The tag 10 is attached to the baggage 1 and read out by a tag/container reader 8. When the passenger P passes a boarding gate 5, a boarding card reader 6 reads out the boarding information from a boarding card 9. The boarding information, the baggage ID, etc., are recorded in respective data bases 2A, 2B. A host computer 3 specifies a container 12 of a non-boarding passenger's baggage on the basis of the information registered in the data bases 2A, 2B.

Afterward, the baggage is managed by this tag, and when receiving the baggage after arrival to the destination also, the baggage is made so as to be checked up by this tag.
