CONSTITUTION:Respective coils of a relay RY1 for low speed rotation and a realy RY2 for a high speed rotation of a motor 1 are in contact with a high speed switch SW1 of a manual switch group 2 for high speed wiping movement, while a coil of a relay RY3 is in contact with a low speed switch SW2 for a low speed wiping movement. In addition, a fluctuation controlling circuit 3 is prepared, and its controlling part CPU is provided with input terminals 11, 12 and output terminals O1, O2. The circuit 3 is started by a start switch SW4. At this time, the output terminal O1 is connected to a base of a transistor Tr1, which is in parallel with the low speed switch SW2, so as to excite the coil of the relay RY3, while the output terminal O2 is connected to a base of a transistor Tr2, which is in parallel with the high speed switch SW1, so as to excite the coil of the relay RY2.

    • PURPOSE:To drive a motor according to the state of a switch, by bringing the motor once into a stopping state when a manual switch is operated in the course of an automatic driving circuit being operated, and by bringing the motor into an operable state when the manual switch is again operated. CONSTITUTION:When a manual switch 4 is operated in the course of an automatic driving, the output of an AND circuit 11 is brought into an L level, and the H level output of a NOT circuit 12 is inputted to an AND circuit 10. Also, in the course of an automatic control, since the H level output of an OR circuit 9 is inputted to the AND circuit 10, the H level signal is outputted from the output terminal Q of a flip-flop 13. Therefore, since a transistor T9 is brought into OFF-state, a manual driving circuit 8 is in a stopping state. Further, by turning off the manual switch 4, the flip-flop 13 is reset. Therefore, the transistor T9 is brought into ON-state, and the manual driving circuit 8 is brought into an operable state.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an optimum operating mode corresponding to a wetted state of a surface to be wiped by estimating the quantity of rain drops sticking to a windshield based on the measured value corresponding to a working load to a wiper blade and setting an operating mode based on the result of this estimation. CONSTITUTION:An automatic mode setting circuit 5, which operates when a manual/automatic switching device 4 selects an automatic mode, in addition to a motor control part 3, which controls a wiper motor 2 based on an operating mode (high speed, low speed, and interval) set by a manually setting part 1, are prepared. In the automatic mode setting circuit 5, a pulse of rotation of a motor is detected by a pulse detecting part 6, and, based on this pulse of rotation, the wiping speed of a wiper is calculated by a wiping speed calculating part 7. Then, corresponding to the wiping speed, a wiping mode of the wiper is selected/set by a mode setting part 8. In this case, the relation between the wiping time and the quantity of rain drops on a windshield, which can be obtained in advance from an experiment, is stored in the mode setting part, in the form of a map, for instance.
