    • PURPOSE:To reduce the friction loss of a valve drive mechanism due to use of rolling contact by disposing a roller retainer in the outer peripheral section of a valve lifter, and by journalling a plurality of rollers adapted to make into rolling contact with the outer peripheral surface of the valve lifter, to the roller retainer. CONSTITUTION:A cam 1 makes contact with the upper surface of a valve lifter 2, and a valve stem 3 is made to abut against the inner surface of the valve lifter. A valve spring 7 is disposed being compressed between a spring retainer 4 secured to the upper section of the valve stem 3 and a seat surface 6 formed in a cylinder head 5. In this arrangement, several support members 8 are disposed in the outer peripheral section of the valve lifter 2, surrounding the former, and a roller retainer 9 is disposed therebetween. Further the roller retainer 9 is formed such that it supports a plurality of rollers 12 making contact with the outer peripheral surface of the valve lifter 2, between a pair of opposite holding sections 11 formed in the inner peripheral surface of a body section 10, rotatably around their shafts 12.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent clutch plates from adhering to one another by forming the guiding groove of a clutch-outer in such a way as to be inclined to the circumferential direction with respect to an axial line, and thereby developing shearing force between adjoining clutch plates so as to shear off an oil film standing between both of the clutch plates. CONSTITUTION:A crank shaft 1 and a main shaft 2 are arranged in parallel with each other. In a space among a clutch-outer 4, a clutch center 10 and a pressure plate 1, each clutch disc 16 and each clutch plate 17 are piled up in mutually over-lapping relation. A guiding groove 4a is formed on the circumferential surface of the clutch-outer 4 in such a way as to form an inclined angle alpha in the circumferential direction against an axial line CL wherein the projection 16a of the clutch disc 16 is slidably engaged with the guiding groove 4a. When the clutch disc which is free from bearing pressure is moved to the axial direction along the guiding groove, it is fairly rotated. The rotation causes shearing force in a gap interspaced with the clutch plate wherein the clutch plate is pulled apart by the shearing force, the occurrence of dragging the clutch plate can thereby be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To miniaturize, and facilitate the machining of the captioned clutch disk by employing a cam mechanism in which inclined faces are made a cam face and a recessed groove side contact piece is made a cam follower, as a damping means. CONSTITUTION:Recessed grooves 14, 13 each having a parabolic contour in the circumferential direction are provided on a driving side member and a driven side member respectively, and a sliding contact member 16 is fitted between the opposite face 15 and the bottom faces of the recessed grooves 13, 14. The sliding contact member 16 consists of a contact piece 17 which is slidingly brought into contact with and astride both bottom faces of the recessed grooves 13, 14, a contact piece 18 which is slidingly brought into contact with the opposite face 15, a spring 19 interposed between both contact pieces 17, 18, and a rubber cylindrical piece 20 surrounding the spring 19. When variation occurs in transmitting torque between the driving side member and the driven side member causing both members to relatively rotate, the contact piece 17 is intervened between the inclined face (14c or 14b) of the recessed groove 14 of the driving side member on one end portion and the inclined face (13b or 13c) of the recessed groove 13 of the driven side member on the other end portion to be slidingly pushed up on both inclined faces and the variation in torque can be damped down by the friction force at this time.

    • PURPOSE:To properly process and harden a tooth bottom part and a tooth root part by shot passing slits formed in a rotary body and projected toward a gear to be processed, by a method wherein the gear to be processed is rotated at the same peripheral velocity as that of the rotary body in which slits are formed at an equal pitch as that of the gear to beprocessed. CONSTITUTION:A gear 40 to be processed is rotated at a peripheral velocity equal to that of a rotary body 14, and shot injected through a nozzle 28 in a chamber in the rotary body 14 is concentratedly sprayed through slits 20, formed in a peripheral wall 18 of the rotary body 14 at a pitch equal to the circular pitch of the gear 40, to a tooth groove part (a tooth bottom 42 part and a tooth root 44 part) of the gear 40 to be processed. By means of the sprayed shot, shot peening processing is applied on the tooth groove part without roughing the tooth surface of the hear 40 to process and harden it, a residual compression stress is exerted in the tooth groove part to improve fatigue strength of the gear 40 to be processed.
