    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the effective use of a space above an engine, and enhance the mounting rigidity of each frame on an engine while reducing the weight and the size of each frame in a vehicle body structure of a saddle-ride type vehicle in which a front frame and a rear frame separate from each other are fastened to a crankcase of the engine located substantially in the center of a vehicle body. SOLUTION: In an engine 16, a cylinder 19 is projected forward from a front end of the crankcase 18. A rear part of a front frame 2F and a front part of a rear frame 2R are individually fastened to a front end of the crankcase 18 and a rear part of the crankcase 18, respectively, and separate from each other. Front fastening parts 80, 81 for fastening the front frame 2F at the front end of the crankcase 18 are respectively provided above and below a base end of the cylinder 19 in side view.     • PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts and a weld length and to increase a space by a method wherein, in an astride type motorcycle, the front part of a main frame is suspended down to the side of an engine, the rear part of the main frame is horizontally extended rearwardly and a pivot part is coupled thereto, and the engine is supported to the above parts. CONSTITUTION:A front part 5 of a main frame 4 is formed by an extrusion material formed in the particular shape in cross section, and a rear part 6 is cast integrally with a pivot part 7. The rear part 6 is horizontally extended rearwardly, and an angle part 8, an end wall 9, and a protrusion 10, formed to the front end of the rear part, are welded to the front part 5 of the main frame. Meanwhile, a distance between the front parts 5 and 5 is set to a value wide enough to allow installation of a large engine 31, e.g. a horizontal type engine, and the front parts are suspended down to the position of a cylinder 32. Mounting holes 12, 14, and 15, a support 13, and a cross bar 18 are formed to the main frame 4 to support an engine 31. This constitution enables reduction of the number of parts and a weld length.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce impact on occupant effectively by connecting an air bag with a vehicle body frame by a flexible bag anchoring body, elongating the bag anchoring body together with the air bag when the air bag is inflated and developed, and inflating and developing the air bag in front of the occupant. SOLUTION: A lower part of an opening of a bag housing 12 is attached on a mounting stay 10 fixed on a top face of a vehicle body frame 1. A fragile part 124 in which an air bag 14 is inflated and developed when impact force exceeding a predetermined value is applied on a motorcycle is formed in the circumference of a lid body 122 of the bag housing 12 except a hinge part 123 on one side thereof, and the air bag 14 is inflated and developed upward when this fragile part 124 is broken. At this time, one end of a pair of bag anchoring bodies 18 which are made of a string body, a beltlike body, or the like and have flexibility is connected with the air bag 14, and the other end thereof is fixed on the vehicle body frame 1 just below a front part of a seat 5. Consequently, it is possible to hold the air bag 14 at a position where it faces an occupant when the air bag 14 is inflated and developed.
