摘要： PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition applicable to a water-filled paddy rice field over a wide range from the initiation to the middle stage of the rice cultivation, and capable of integrally exterminating the weeds in the paddy rice field, by using a specific benzamide and alpha-(beta-naphthoxy)propionanilide as active components. CONSTITUTION:The objective herbicidal composition contains, as active components, a benzamide compound of fomula (R is n-C4H9O, C2H5OCH2O, or n-C4H9OCH2O), e.g. 4-n-butoxy-N-( 2, 3-dichlorophenyl )-benzamide, and alpha-( beta- naphthoxy)propionanilide (naproanilide). The weight ratio of benzamide compound to naproanilide is 3:1-1:3. It can eradicate or control resistant perennial weeds in paddy rice field, e.g. bulrush, arrowhead, flatstage, etc. as well as annual weeds.

A granule is preferred for applying the above-mentioned composition and a carrier or adjuvant is added to prepare a pharmaceutical. Furthermore, a suitable period for treatment of >=2 weeks just after seeding can be expended even in direct seeding in waterlogged soil and the herbicide can be sprayed even in the next week after seeding. The spraying day can be optionally selected even if an unforeseen accident occurs in allotment of labor or weather, etc.
