摘要： PURPOSE:To limit flow-out of oil below specific level upon damage, by positioning the lateral bulkhead of central cargo tank between the lateral bulkheads of broadside ballast tank while making the length between both lateral bulkheads longer than the specific length of bottom damage and increasing the cargo tank capacity. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of broadside cargo tanks (so) and ballast tanks (sb) are arranged alternatively back and fro at the opposite sides of a plurality of central cargo tanks (co) arranged back and fro. The lateral bulkhead 13 of central cargo tank (co) is positioned between the lateral bulkheads 14 of broadside ballast tank. The distance between said bulkheads 13, 14 is made longer than specific length of bottom damage regulated in agreement. When constructing such that the total capacity of two central cargo tanks (co) and the total capacity of one cargo tank and another broadside cargo tank (so) will be at the maximum within specific limit, flow-out of oil upon damage can be limited below regulated level while increasing the capacity of cargo tank.

In full loading, cargo oil is put in the tank of the main ship body 14 and the side tanks 13. At that time, the side tanks 13 are placed in a lower position so that navigation is effected in a normal integrated ship form. In ballasted navigation, the side tanks 13 are made empty and placed in an upper position and ballast water is put in the tanks of the main ship body 14 to place only the main ship body in water to decrease the displacement to economize fuel.
