In front and in the rear end in the moving direction of the base of the slider block 8, variation in a clearance with the base of a fluid tank 9 grows larger due to a rocking type vibration making the neighborhood of a guideway of a movable body 1 as the turning center. In consequence, a squeeze film effect is produced in both these front and rear parts 11, 13 of the base of the slider block 8, checking this rocking type vibration to smallness. In addition, a horizontal vibration of the guideway of the movable body 1 is checked as shearing force of a fluid 10 works on the central part 12 of the base of the slider block 8.

CONSTITUTION:The output of an acceleration pickup 13 attached to a spindle head 7 is judged by a vibration judging apparatus 14 having the first setting equipment to set up the first criterion for judging a dangerous state, the second setting equipment to set up the second criterion for judging an alarm issuing state, the first and the second comparator to mutually compare the output of the acceleration pickup 13 and the set value of each setting equipment, and a timer to receive the output of the second comparator for measuring time. On the result of the above judgement, a controller 15 controls the movement of a machine tool table 2, a column 4 and the spiradle head 7, and the revolution of a main spindle 10, and moreover an alarm display lamp 16 is turned on for indicating a controlled state.

Thereby the weight of the machine can be supported in good balance to make the level adjusting work easy.
