    • PURPOSE:To culture a large amount of cells at a high density by feeding a fresh culture solution through a through hole formed in a supporting shaft into a hermetically closed container, supplying nutriments and oxygen to cells stuck to perforated plates of a filter unit communicating with the through hole and simultaneously removing waste products. CONSTITUTION:Steam is fed from a boiler 40 through an inflow port 22 into a hermetically closed container 12 to carry out empty sterilization. Warm water is then circulated from warm water feed port 52 to a jacket 25 of the container 1 to keep the container 12 at a prescribed temperature. A compressor 30 and a vacuum pump 32 are then operated to feed cells from a seed cell vessel 34 into the container 12 and a culture solution is simultaneously fed from a storage tank 39 into the container 12. A buffer solution is subsequently fed from a storage tank 36 through the inflow port 22 into the container 12. The culture solution is then taken out through perforated plates 20 and a through hole 16 in a rotating shaft 14 to stick the cells to the surfaces of the perforated plates 20. A fresh culture solution containing nutriments and oxygen is subsequently fed into the container 12 to supply the nutriments and oxygen to the cells and the culture solution containing waste products is simultaneously taken out through the perforated plates 20 and the through hole 16.

As the next preparation, in the state that the valves V1, V8, V9 and V10 are opened and one more valve is closed, the hot water from the hot water tank 2 is fed only to a return pipe line 14 to feed the residual original liquid in the pipe line 14 to the cushion tank 22.

    • PURPOSE:To wash a filter membrane in order to recover the filtering capacity thereof. CONSTITUTION:A supply solution is supplied to the primary side of a membrane 5 under pressure and a concentrated solution is circulated through a pipe joint 9 and the transmitted solution issued to the secondary side of the membrane 5 is recovered through a transmitted solution flow passage 11. The flow passage 11 of the transmitted solution on the secondary side is cyclically opened and closed by an opening and closing valve 12 while the treated solution on the primary side is circulated during operation. When the flow passage of the transmitted solution on the secondary side is opened and closed at a predetermined cycle while the treated solution on the primary side of the membrane is circulated, the treated solution flows along the membrane during a period when the flow passage of the transmitted solution on the secondary side is closed without being transmitted through the membrane and, as a result, the cake layer formed on the surface of the membrane becomes thin and filtering capacity is recovered.

    • PURPOSE:To provide an active carbon regeneration-type water purifier which is capable of regenerating and sterilizing active carbon by simply boiling by energizing a heater and is suited for automatic regeneration. CONSTITUTION:This active carbon regeneration-type water purifier regenerates active carbon by allowing tap water to come in contact with active carbon stored in a container to purify tap water, then regenerates the active carbon by heating the container at any time using a heating means to boil the water which is resident in the container, and at the same time, sterilizes the water by boiling. The outlet 102 of the container is connected to a purified water discharge passage 130 and a heated water/vapor discharge path 152 through an automatic switching valve 128. In addition, the outlet of the container is connected to the purified water discharge passage during supply of purified water so that the purified water is discharged from the purified water discharge passage. Further, when the heating means is operated, the outlet of the container is automatically switched to the discharge passage to allow the discharge of heated water or steam from the discharge passage.
