    • PURPOSE:To reduce a casting cost by providing a sprue in the upper part of a flat plate-shaped part of a casting, disposing a molten metal receiving part in the lower part of the sprue and further inclining a casting mold at a specific angle with the horizontal direction. CONSTITUTION:The sprue 3 is provided in the upper part of the flat plate- shaped part 2 of the casting mold and the molten metal receiving part 4 is disposed in the lower part of the sprue 3; further the casting mold is installed by inclining the entire part thereof at 3-15 deg. with the horizontal direction. Since the sprue 3 is installed in the upper part of the flat plate-shaped part 2, the molten metal is filled in projecting parts 1, 1a without decreasing the temp. of the molten metal and the molten metal is smoothly fluidized by the presence of the molten metal receiving part 4. Since the entire part of the molten metal is inclined, the diversion and confluence of the molten metal in the casting mold are prevented. The generation of blowhole defects and sand inclusion defects are prevented by the above-mentioned method and therefore, the production cost is reduced.

    • PURPOSE: To produce an assembling type roll for rolling having high wear resistance and excellent in seizing resistance and cost effectiveness. CONSTITUTION: This roll is formed by engagingly fixing to an axial material a composite sleeve for constituting a barrel part constituted by an external layer composed of an Fe-base alloy contg. chemical components of, by weight, 2 to 4% C, 0.5 to 4% Si, 0.1 to 1.5% Mn, 1 to 7% Cr, 2 to 10% Mo and 2 to 10% V and having a metallic structure contg. a matrix structure, containing graphite by 0.5 to 5%, by area, 0.2 to 10% MC carbides and =70 HS hardness and an internal layer of a cast steel or a forged steel or a graphite cast steel contg. 0.1 to 2% C. The metallic structure of the external layer of the composite sleeve for constituting the barrel part may contain one or more kinds among M2 C carbides, M6 C carbides and M7 C3 carbides by 0.2 to 20%, by area, as well as the MC carbides. The external layer of the composite sleeve for constituting the barrel part may contain one or more kinds among 0.2 to 4% Ni, 2 to 10% W, 1 to 10% Co, 1 to 10% Nb, 0.01 to 2% Ti, 0.002 to 0.2% B and 0.02 to 1% Cu as well.
