    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect ant abnormal state before the overflow of waste water by connecting an outlet pipe in the middle of a connection pipe jointing a controller to a vacuum piping, installing a movable member to an open end of outlet pipe and connecting a float member to a movable member. SOLUTION: When a vacuum valve 3 is operating normally, a connection pipe 5, a branch vacuum pipe 22 and an outlet pipe 13 are maintained to a vacuum state. And the water level in a catch basin 1 is at the NL position, a float 32 is at the NL position, and a movable piece contacts to the end face of outlet pipe ands closes it. And if the water level in a catch basin 1 rises to the position of HL, the float 32 also rises to the position of HL, the movable piece is separated from the end face of the outlet pipe 13 by the link mechanism containing first and second rods 19a, 19b, and atmospheric air flows to the vacuum valve and the vacuum is destroyed. Moreover, are is sucked by the warning horn attached to the end portion of the outlet pipe 13 and a warning sound is generated and the anomaly in the catch basin 1 is detected. Thus, the anomaly in the vacuum valve 3 can be detected before the waste water overflows from the catch basin 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that the scum removing apparatus of a sedimentations basin in which a cam plate is pushed down by the roller attached to the scraper arm moving through the sedimentation basin to revolve a scum pipe, has a complicated structure and easily misoperated.
      SOLUTION: The scum removing apparatus is provided with a cam roller 9 to a scraper arm 4 and providing a first cam plate 7 and a second cam plate 8 to a scum pipe 5 and, when the scraper arm 4 is moved to approach the scum pipe 5, the cam roller 9 contacts with the first cam plate 7 and, when the scraper arm 4 is further moved, the scum pipe 5 is revolved to a position where an inflow port 53 faces to scum from the original position through the first cam plate 7 and, when the scraper arm 4 is moved further, the cam roller 9 comes into contact with the second cam plate 8 and, when the scraper arm 4 is moved furthermore, the scum pipe 5 is revolved through the second cam plate 8 to return to the original position.
