    • PURPOSE:To provide a higher recording density and smaller crosstalks by adequately adjusting the depth of guiding grooves according to the sectional shape and pitch of the guiding grooves. CONSTITUTION:The guiding grooves 4 are formed to have the depth d1 of (lambda/10n to lambda/16n)X(1.5 to 1.6) when the sectional shape of the guiding grooves 4 is formed to an approximately triangular shape, the pitch P of the refractive index to 1.0 to 1.5 mum and the wavelength of light for reproducing as lambda and the refractive index of a transparent substrate 2 as (n). Many tracks can be arranged in the recording of a specified area and the recording density in the direction where the guiding grooves are arranged is increased when the track pitch is diminished. The wavelength of the light for recording/reproducing is shortened and the pitch length of prepits and add-on pits is shortened as the track pitch is smaller and, therefore, the recording density can be increased in the direction along the guiding grooves as well. On the other hand, the crosstalks are decreased when the guiding grooves of the smaller pitch are formed in such a manner.

    • PURPOSE:To realize the speed control with accuracy by detecting continuously the phase difference between a reference speed command pulse and the up-pulse outputted from a laser length measuring device via a phase comparator and feeding said phase difference back to a drive motor via a motor control circuit. CONSTITUTION:A speed servo circuit consists of a laser length measuring device and a pulse converter 4 and the revolutions of a motor 1 are turned into the linear motions by a mechanism part 2. These linear motions are measured by a laser length measuring device 3 and changed into the up/down signals by the converter 4. These up/down signals are inputted to a selector 5 and the up or down signal is selected according to the positive or negative direction feed of a direction signal 6. The selected up or down signal is inputted to a phase comparator 7 and the phase difference is detected by the comparator 7 between said selected signal and the reference speed command pulse received from a speed command reference pulse 8. Then the output of a phase/voltage converter 9 is fed back to the motor 1 for speed control of the motor 1.

    • PURPOSE:To set a track pitch with high accuracy by dividing original clocks with 1st and 2nd dividers and respectively using the outputs of the 1st and 2nd dividers as the reference clocks of a rotation driving mechanism and feeding mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Original clocks generated from an original clock generating section 1 are divided into 1/N by means of a divider 2 and reference clocks CF are formed and divided into 1/M by a divider 3 and reference clocks CSP are formed. Then motor speed signals C'F which are proportional to the rotating speed of a head feeding motor 8 are phase-compared with the reference clocks CF at a phase comparator 4 and the rotating speed of the motor 8 is controlled by means of the phase error signal produced as a result of the comparison. Similarly, motor speed signals C'SP which are proportional to the rotating speed of a master disk rotating motor 9 are phase-compared with the reference clocks CSP at a phase comparator 5 and the rotating speed of the master disk rotating motor 9 is controlled. Therefore, even if the frequency of the original clocks changes, the frequencies of the reference clocks CSP and CF simultaneously change and the rotating speed of a master disk is always maintained in a fixed state and, as a result, the track pitch is maintained constantly.
