    • PURPOSE:To apply control force in the breadthwise direction of tape with an air flow at the time of tape winding and to prevent the magnetic tape from being thrown into winding disorber by providing recessed grooves for air flowing-out radially from a winding core of the tape at the inner surface of a flange. CONSTITUTION:In a tape reel 1, the upper flange 4 is formed on the upper end face of a tape winding core 3 integrally molded with the lower flange 2. Five linear recessed grooves 5 for air flowing out radially extending toward the outer periphery are provided on the inside surface of the flange 4 at regular intervals, and also through-holes 6 for air inflow communicating to the inner end part at the side of winding core 3 of the groves 5 for air flowing out are bored on the flange 4. By the constitution in such a manner, the air flows in from the through-holes 6 and goes through the grooves 5 by the centrifugal force at the time when the tape is taken up at high speed around the tape reel 1, then the air stream is generated in the outer peripheral direction of the flange from the winding core 3, and the control force is applied in the breadthwise direction of tape, thereby the tape is prevented from being thrown into winding disorbed.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the disturbance in winding of a tape by providing recessed grooves for outflow of air radially from a tape winding core toward the outer periphery of a flange and having through-holes for inflow of the air communicating in the recessed grooves. CONSTITUTION:The tape reel 1 is constituted by fixing the upper flange 4 to the top end face of the tape winding core 3 integrally formed with the lower flange 2. The recessed grooves 5 for outflow of the air extending radially from the winding core 3 to the part near the outer periphery of the flange 4 are provided at equal spacings on the inside surface of the flange 4. Through-holes 6 for inflow of the air communicating with the inside end on the winding core 3 side of the recessed grooves 5 are bored in the flange 4. As a result, the air introduced from the through-holes 6 into the inner side of the flange 4 when the tape 8 is taken up at a high speed. The flow of the air is then generated in the outer peripheral direction of the flange 4 from the winding core 3 through the recessed grooves 5. Then, the disturbance in the winding of the tape 8 is prevented even if the air is intruded between the tapes 8.
