    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting method and device capable of judging the mental state of an operator for performing operations by voice input and performing operator supporting suited to the mental state. SOLUTION: In a voice recognition processing part 3, the pattern of the instruction word of a plant operation voice inputted beforehand is registered for each operator. During the operation, for a voice instruction word from a microphone 6, the sound pressure waveform is fetched through a data conversion part 2 to the voice recognition processing part 3 and a maximum sound pressure, a highest frequency and shortest sounding time are fetched to an operator state judgement processing part 4. The voice recognition processing part 3 divides the sound pressure waveform and performs spectrum conversion for respective sound pressure data and performs the voice recognition of the instruction word by pattern matching. Also, the operator is specified by speaker recognition. The operator state judgement processing part 4 compares the inputted maximum sound pressure, highest frequency and shortest sounding time with the registration data of the specified operator respectively and judges the mental state. A supporting processing output part 5 executes a supporting processing corresponding to instruction contents when the mental state of the operator is 'abnormal'.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reader in which a business form is imaged and its content is recognized based on a format definition, where the effect of fluctuation in distance between an imaging part and a business form is suppressed. SOLUTION: In a business form reader, an address label attached on the upper surface of a parcel is imaged from above using an imaging part 20 fixed to a stand. The actual fineness that fluctuates according to height of a parcel is calculated by imaging a guide 31 of known dimension which is disposed on the upper surface of the parcel. The zooming factor of a lens 21 is controlled so that the actual fineness agrees with a specified fineness which is specified by a format definition used for recognizing the content of the address label. With this configuration, a difference between the actual fineness and the specified fineness is compensated for improved content recognition accuracy of the address label even if the height of parcels is not constant.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gradation converting method and its processing program that adjust a file size and image density of outputted image data with binary gradation so as to provide an output of the image with less noise and without blur and deformed characters according to a gradation conversion algorithm that applies binary-coding to a multi-value image. SOLUTION: The gradation conversion method of this invention includes: a step 302 of resetting a binary-coding threshold value to obtain a dense binary image in order to extract thin characters and ruled lines; a step 303 of generating a binary image; a step (No in a step 305) of outputting the binary image when the generated binary image satisfies a limit in a file size or when the generated binary image satisfies a file size limit and the generated binary image satisfies the file size limit and the limit of the file size with respect to the unit area of the binary image; a step 306 of setting a binary threshold α to thin an output density and executing again binary-coding processing when the generated binary image satisfies no condition (Yes in the step 305). The method repeatedly sets the binary-coding threshold until the condition is satisfied to execute binary-coding processing and outputs the binary image when the condition is satisfied.
