    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize approximately same load even when a car is located on any floor by judging the overload by an overload judging means based on the detected load or an in-car load, and changing the judged overload judging load for each floor. SOLUTION: An elevator control panel 109 inputs the detected value of the in-car load from a load detecting device 103 when a car 101 is stopped in the door zone. The detected value of the in-car load and the data registered in a load detection/ correction value register table are subtracted by an overload control part 112 of a micro-computer 110, and the obtained value is the detected value of the in-car load. The detected value of the in-car load for each floor can be obtained by setting the load detection errors in the load detection/correction register table so that the detected value of the in-car load for each floor is constant. The overload reference value and the detected load value which are calculated from the overload reference value and the data registered in the overload detection changing value table are judged for the overloading by an overload judging part 115. When the detected value is smaller than the overload reference value, the normal operation is continued. When the detected value is larger than the overload reference value, an alarm is given to prevent the start.

CONSTITUTION:A motor drive signal S1 is outputted from a control device 11 to excite a relay 101a. In this case, a failure in operation detecting device 13 monitors the motor drive signal S1 and the contact of the relay 101a to decide as under-mentioned. Namely, when the contact of the relay 101a is closed, contact is normal and when the contact of the relay 101a is opened, contact is defective. In case the relay 101a is demagnetized by means of the motor drive signal S1, when the contact of the relay 101a is opened, contact is normal and when the contact of the relay 101a is closed, a contact is fused. As noted above, when a contact is poor in contact or fused, the failure in operation detecting device decides that a power unit 1 is failed in operation, a fail safe relay FS1 is demagnetized and the power unit 1 is separated.
