    • PURPOSE:To obtain a compound piezoelectric body of high performance and high precision wherein electro-mechanical coupling-coefficient is high, and acoustic impedance is low, by retaining pillar type piezoelectric bodies in an integrated body with an organic body composed of organic material, and fixing a pair of lead members to the parallel edge-portions of the piezoelectric board, and simplify the fixing of the lead wires. CONSTITUTION:A PZT board 10 has a pair of parallel edge-portions 10a, and is formed in a planar type or belt plane type having thickness (t). A plurality of piezoelectric bodies 12 are arranged with a pitch (P), via organic bodies which are composed of polyurethane or epoxy resin and have a width (w). Lead members 14 are fixed to both parallel edge-portions 10a of the PZT board 10 in a unified body, via, e.g., adhesive agent. The pitch P of recessed parts 15 arranged on the lead members 14 is set as follow; the pitch between a pair of facing lead members 14, 14 is P=2np, and the pitch on the same lead member 14 is 2P. The height of the lead member 14 is set as a specified dimension (h), and a conductor part 16 having a height h1 is board on the upper surface of the lead member 14 to which the recessed part 15 belongs. A plated electrode layer 20 is arranged on the surface of the piezoelectric bodies 12 of, e.g., two rows intersecting the parallel edge-portions 10a, via an organic body 19. The recessed part 15 and the conducting part 16 of the lead member 14 also are provided with the similar plated electrode layer, which are electrically connected with a plated electrode layer 20 arranged on the surface of the piezoelectric body 12.

    • PURPOSE:To accurately and easily manufacture a composite piezoelectric material that formerly is hard to work by forming a cut groove form the front surface of a resonator while remaining a part of its thickness, packing a resin in the said groove, and cutting off the unnecessary part of the resonator from its rear surface. CONSTITUTION:The resonator 201 is temporarily adhered on a block 203 having excellent parallelism and flatness with a resin 202 softened when wax or the like is heated. Then a cut groove 204 is formed to the depth of t1 longer than the thickness of the composite piezoelectric material to be formed in matrix state in the resonator 201 while leaving a part of the thickness by means of a diesing saw. A resin such as polyurethane or epoxy resin 206 is packed and cured in the groove 204. Then the resin 202 is melted. The resonator 201 is turned over, and temporarily adhered on the block having the excellent parallelism and flatness 207 with wax, etc. 208. Thereafter, the unnecessary part of the resonator 201 is sequentially cut off from the edge by using a thicker blade 209 so that the depth of the cut-off part is made equal to the thickness t2 of the composite piezoelectric material to be formed. Finally, the material is stripped off from the block 207 to obtain the composite piezoelectric material.

    • PURPOSE:To be flexible and to prevent a crosstalk from being increased even when the volume ratio of a columnar piezoelectric body is made higher by widening the section between stripe-shaped electrodes as much as possible, making narrower the clearance between columnar piezoelectric bodies of the direction intersecting orthogonally with it and making narrower the clearance of the columnar vibrator in an electrode. CONSTITUTION:By using a compound piezoelectric body 101 in which a clearance gx between columnar piezoelectric bodies 102 of the direction, in which the stripe-shaped electrode is formed, is widened as much as possible and the clearance between the columnar piezoelectric bodies 102 of the direction intersecting orthogonally with it is narrowed as much as possible, a probe is constituted. By using a compound piezoelectric body 301 in which a clearance gx2 between columnar piezoelectric bodies 302 at the stripe electrodes 304 is widened to the extent for which a crosstalk is not a problem and a clearance gx1 between the columnar piezoelectric bodies 302 is narrowed in the stripe electrodes 304 as much as possible, the probe is constituted. Thus, a composite piezoelectric body, which satisfies a prescribed volume ratio, is small in the crosstalk and flexible, can be realized and the probe can be realized with it.
