摘要： PURPOSE:To realize effective utilization of a partial character string storage means by independently setting the number of comparison signs as plural partial symbol strings performing a leading collation processing. CONSTITUTION:The position of automaton division numbers dividing a leading collation processing part and a back collation processing part is independently set for each partial character string. In short, for example, when retrieval character strings K1 to K4 are supplied, the division of the leading collation processing part and the back collation processing part is performed by a division line 820 not by a first division line 810. Therefore, the second characters 'BUN' and 'GAKU' in 'MOJI' (character) and 'BUNGAKU' (literature) are processed by the back collation processing, and the only common first character 'BUN' can be set in the leading collation processing. In short, the transition condition set as the partial character string in a parallel comparison device performing the leading collation becomes 'BUN' and 'KENSAKU' (retrieval). Thus, the number of set partial character strings becomes two from the conventional three, and the effective utilization of the storage means can be attained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce the number of times of the data input/output of an executing means and a state transition table, and to attain speedup by installing a parallel comparator at the preceding stage of a finite automaton executing means, and only when the partial comparison of a retrieval character string coincides, executing execution and processing. CONSTITUTION:A parallel comparing part 10 which executes the parallel and highspeed processing of collation between a partial character string obtained by taking out a part of plural character strings to be retrieved and a character string 101 to be retrieved in which document data is arranged one after another from a head character is installed at the preceding stage of a finite automaton executing part 11 in a semiconductor integrated circuit. Then, only when the coincidence with the partial character string set in the parallel comparator 106 is detected, the collation of a remaining part is executed by the finite automaton executing part 11. Thus, since the frequency of input/output of the data between the finite automaton executing part 11 and the state transition table 110 is reduced, the speedup of retrieval processing can be realized.

摘要： PURPOSE:To speed up the retrieving process for a symbol string (character string) by coupling a CPU and the retrieval module through a general address bus and a data bus and placing the both in partial charge of the symbol string (character string) retrieving process. CONSTITUTION:The CPU 100 and retrieval module 200 as a multifunctional module are connected through the general address bus and data bus, and data set previously in the retrieving module 200 are written by the CPU 100. The symbol string (character string) retrieving process is started by transferring text data to the retrieving module 200 by the CPU 100. Then the result of collation with the text data is outputted to the result storage means of the data input/output means 202 of the retrieving module 200 and the CPU 100 reads and interprets it. The CPU 100 and retrieving module 200 are integrated as a retrieval processor on the same chip to speed up the data transfer between the CPU 100 and retrieving module 200. Consequently, the symbol string (character string) retrieving process is speeded up.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enlarge a using field as a versatile module by using an associative memory also as a normal memory. CONSTITUTION:Data with a prescribed bit length are stored from a terminal A3 of a selection part 12 through a terminal A1 and a data bus 5 to registers 1 and 2. Further, the associative memory device selects any one of the registers 1 and 2 through an address decoder 4 while responding to an address signal 3 and transmits code information 11, which are outputted from an output part 10, from a terminal A2 to the terminal A3 while responding to the specified value of the signal 3. Thus, since the registers 1 and 2 are designated by the decoder 4 and the data with the prescribed bit length can be read out/written in through the bus 5 concerning the registers 1 and 2, the registers 1 and 2 can be used as the normal memory. Accordingly, the using field as a versatile module is enlarged.

SOLUTION: In a file read mode, a file 10 stored in a memory 110 is divided and stored in four magnetic disk devices 170-0 to 170-3 (id=0 to 3) with a single data block defined as an I/O unit, for example. Then a data block A10-0 is written into the device 170-0 (id=0). When the block A10-0 is written into an internal cache of the device 170-0, the next data block B10-1 is written into the device 170-1 (id=1) without waiting for the completion of write of the block A10-0 into a disk medium from an internal cache. Thus, the next write request is issued before a write operation is carried out from an internal cache to a disk medium.
