    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a maintenance person inside the building of an exchange station to easily perform a test by providing a sensor for sensing whether a line to be tested is connected to a simplified test terminal or not while using the simplified test terminal, automatically testing electric characteristics when the sensor senses the connection and outputting the tested result to the connected terminal. SOLUTION: When the maintenance person in the building, where an exchange device is installed, connects a subscriber's line 161 and a simplified test terminal 121 to any arbitrary measuring point 162, it is sensed by the sensor (black part) and reported to a control part 111. The control part 111 connects a non-used measuring instrument 113 through a switch 112 and measures the electric characteristics at the specified measuring point 162 according to a prescribed test menu and normality/abnormality is automatically discriminated from the measured result. Therefore, the maintenance person can specify a fault block by measuring the electric characteristics of plural measuring blocks inside the subscriber's line 161 and the control part 111 automatically outputs the measured result and normality onto the screen of a test terminal 130. Thus, speedy recovery is enabled.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control media converters having different control procedures methods by one media conversion controller. SOLUTION: The media conversion controller has a means for recording parameters for identifying a media converter and control procedures methods used for controlling the media converters as a table wherein the parameters and methods are associated with each other, and selects a control procedures method suitable for the media converter based on the table. When the control of the media converter is requested by an upper software, the media conversion controller requests a 'control procedures method proxy object' to execute relevant processing according to the unified procedures provided by a 'device control basic object', and the 'control method procedures proxy object' executes the processing following the control procedures method suitable for the targeted media converter. Then, by using an interface provided by a 'control procedures method mounted subsystem', the control procedures method can be changed without making any modifications to the upper software.
