    • PURPOSE:To ensure that jamming with the form is prevented if the tip of the form is located between a form discharge roller and a printing head by transporting the tip of the printing form to a position between the form discharge roller in a transport path and a printing head, parking a form transport roller from the transport path, and printing the form starting with its tip. CONSTITUTION:When the form 1 is printed on the area within one inch from the tip, it is transported to a position between a form discharge roller 5 in a transport path and a printing head. Then the form transport roller 5 is parked from the transport path to start printing. Consequently, the tip of the form is prevented from running into the form discharge roller 5 and it is ensured that the form is printed on the area within one inch from the tip 1. In addition, the time required for parking the form transport roller 5 in the transport path depends on the specified amount of the form 1 is passable through the form transport roller 5. If the line is fed by the specified amount, the form transport roller 5 returns to its home position, holding the form with a platen 4. Thus the form is prevented from swaying between the printing head 3 and the platen 4, and the printing action of the printing head 3 is not obstructed.

    • PURPOSE:To set a given distance between a printing head and a paper by a method in which means to move, fix and retract a carrier mechanism are provided in such a combination that they can do specific works. CONSTITUTION:When a paper is set and a start button is pushed, a support rail 4A is turned toward the direction of an arrow C by the action (in the direction of an arrow F) of a spring 12, the action is transmitted through a retraction lever 11 to a carrier mechanism 2, and a ribbon shield 8 moves toward the direction of an arrow C' until the paper 6 is touched. Then, when exciting a first electromagnet 13, the rail 4A, the lever 11, and the carrier mechanism 2 are fixed their positions in such a way that they are in contact with each other through an armature 14. When exciting a second electromagnet 18 then, the coil 15 of the first electromagnet 13 turns toward the direction of an arrow E by a fixed amount and thereby the rail 4A and the lever 11 move toward the direction of arrow D and the carrier mechanism 2 moves toward the direction of an arrow D' by a given amount, resulting in the formation of a given distance between the shield 8 and the paper 6.

    • PURPOSE:To move a hopper up and down automatically by composing it of a belt to which the hopper is fixed, the first pulley driven by a motor, means, which tenses the second pulley to give a tensile force to the belt, and a solenoid that releases the tension of the belt. CONSTITUTION:A slip blank 3 is fed in the direction b, the quantity of blank is detected by a bearing 5, a motor is driven through a detecting lever 6 and a limit switch 7 when the quantity of blank becomes a fixed value, and a pulley 8 is turned by a fixed quantity. Since the belt 10 is tensed by a spring 9, the hopper 1 is moved upwards by the said rotation, the location of the uppermost face of the blank 3 is kept in a fixed range at all times. Also when a door of the hopper 1 is opened, the solenoid is connected to the tension pulley 13 through the hopper tension lever, the pulley 13 is pushed up in the direction d to release the belt 10, the hopper descends by its self-weight. In this way, the hopper is automatically moved up and down.

    • PURPOSE:To make possible printing at high density with an ink ribbon, if necessary without replacement of a ribbon cassette by providing a ribbon traction mechanism for the vertical movement of the ribbon cassette and allowing each upper and lower part equal to 1/3 of the entire width of the ink ribbon to be repetitively used with the help of a mobius ring. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon in a ribbon cassette 3 is connected endlessly in the form of a mobius ring, so that the ink ribbon can be repetitively used. The ribbon is wider than the conventional ribbon and used by dividing the width into three parts, upper 4, intermediate 6 and lower 5. When printing is performed in a convetional manner, the upper part 4 and the lower part 5 of the ink ribbon are alternately used. Thus the printing is achieved by the same ink ribbon repetitive use method as by the conventional method. In this state, the intermediate part 6 is not used and therefore, a state where it is possible to perform printing at an initial density, is maintained as it is. As long as this ribbon cassette is used, high-density printing can be performed using the intermediate part 6 of the ink ribbon by activating a ribbon traction mechanism to move the intermedicate 1/3 part of the ink ribbon to a use position, if important documents need to be printed.

    • PURPOSE:To extend the life of a printing head, by a method wherein a printing head is made fittable in an upside down reversible manner and a switch is provided to a pulse width control part for driving the printing head and a pulse width change-over means is mounted to reduce the load of a specific wire. CONSTITUTION:A signal is transmitted through a route of CG8 pulse width control part 9 driver 10 magnet 11 and the wires 1-7 of a printing head are operated by the attraction of the magnet 11 to perform printing. The use quantity of the specific wire 7 is increased by the printing of the rule of a table and, through a large number of the other wires 1-6 have sufficient allowance up to a life point 13, the replacement of the printing head is performed periodically. Since the wire 7 soon reaches its life even if the printing head is fitted in this state so as to be merely reversed, a pulse width change-over switch 12 is provided and changed over simultaneously with the replacement of the printing head to make a pulse width long and the original life 14 of the wire 7 is further extended by a life 15.

    • PURPOSE:To change over a ribbon at an arbitrary position in a serial direction, by providing a calculating means for changing over a track of a color to a track of another color, and an electrical controlling means for driving a ribbon changing-over mechanism in accordance with the calculation result. CONSTITUTION:A pivot 12 supports a ribbon cassette 13 so that the cassette 13 can be moved in vertical direction with respect to a printing head 14. A stepping motor 5 is rotated, and the cassette 13 is moved in the vertical direction with respect to the head 14. When a signal for changing over the ribbon color is received, a change-over signal discriminating circuit 23 discriminates the color of the ribbon, and a ribbon change-over quantity calculating circuit 24 calculates a movement quantity to be designated to a stepping motor controlling circuit 22. The calculation result is converted into a number of pulses by the controlling circuit 22, the motor 5 is driven, and the ribbon of the desired color is positioned at the head 14.
