    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recorder which can obtain a stable printing quality by heating or cooling an inkjet head.
      SOLUTION: At a standby position of the inkjet head 18 which prints an image onto a recording medium 12 by flying ink to the recording medium 12 transferred by a recording medium transfer means 13, there are set a temperature detecting means 24 for detecting the temperature of the inkjet head 18, and a temperature control means 25 for heating or cooling the inkjet head 18 to make the inkjet head 18 an appropriate temperature on the basis of the temperature detected by the temperature detecting means 24. Even when the inkjet recorder is used at a tropic place or a cold place, the ink in the inkjet head 18 is maintained to be an appropriate temperature at all times, and therefore the stable printing quality can be obtained without being affected by an environment where the apparatus is set.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for driving a recording head capable of obtaining a high quality printing image by preventing ink ejected in the air from being divided, also preventing a recording dot from being formed into an oval shape or divided into two on a recording medium, in a recording head for a high speed ink jet printer.
      SOLUTION: When ink drops are made to be ejected in the air from nozzles of the recording head, a second pulse which can eject ink in the air but has a lower voltage Vb than a first pulse is added and applied after the first drive pulse voltage Va to eject ink in the air. By using the second pulse, the vicinity of a rear part of the ink drops is accelerated to prevent the ink drops from being divided in the middle of the flight.
