    • PURPOSE:To improve current breaking performance with a current rate of change of breaking current restrained with simple constitution by surroundedly providing a magnetic substance, saturated with a given current larger than rated current, on a main circuit to which a main contact is connected. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic substance 20, which is on a disc and composed by laminating thin iron plates, is surroundedly provided on the outer periphery of a conductor 11 in a vacuum vessel consisting of an insulating tube 12, fixed side plate 13, and movable side plate 14, etc., and also is supported and fixed in the inner surface of the insulating tube 12. In the same way, a disc-like magnetic substance 21, composed by laminating thin iron plates, is surroundedly provided on the outer periphery of a conductor 17 in the vacuum vessel, and also is supported and fixed in the inner surface of the insulating tube 12. Moreover both the magnetic substances 20 and 21 have constitution in which they are saturated at a given current value larger than rated current. By this, when short-circuit current exceeding rated current flows in a main contact 1, the magnetic substances 20 and 21 are saturated to restrain the rate of change of current flowing in the main contact 1, therefore current breaking is eased, and a DC breaker having simple constitution as a whole is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a trigger discharge device suitable for big current and high voltage by storing electrode portions in a vacuum, and mechanically bringing a fixed electrode and a movable electrode into contact with each other and separating them from each other so as to trigger the gap between both electrodes. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic field is generated by excitation of an electromagnetic repulsive coil 14 in response to output from a control circuit 13 a current is induced in a short ring 11 and an electromagnetic repulsive force is generated between the electromagnetic repulsive coil 14 and the short ring 11 and the short ring 11 is driven upwards at high speed so that a movable electrode 8 is closed at high speed. When the output of the control circuit 13 is stopped the movable electrode 8 is lowered and an arc is generated between the movable electrode 8 and a fixed electrode 7 and the gap between the fixed electrode 7 and the movable electrode 8 is triggered and a current is caused to flow between both electrodes 7, 8 between which the gap is being retained by an opening spring 12. Thus a trigger discharge device that performs stable triggering for big current and high voltage is obtained.
