CONSTITUTION:When the number of revolutions of the shaft 1, N, drops to attain the preset value N0, a comparator 17 gives a motor drive signal to a motor 15, which will actuate a sleeve 3b into rotation with the aid of a gear 14 and a sector gear 12. This rotation of sleeve 3b is transmitted to another sleeve 3d through a pin shaft 7, and the sleeve 3d turns for the same angle as the sleeve 3b. By this rotation of sleeves 3b, 3d, the groove part 4b of screw groove 4 provided in the inside surface of each sleeve 3a-3d is blocked by the top 4a. Consequently, the fluid can be prevented from leakage through following the screw groove 4.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the distribution of oil film pressure on a journal bearing provided with at least one oil supply groove extending in the axial direction and reduce self-sustained oscillation caused during rapid rotation, by placing one oil supply groove near the line of action of the load on the bearing. CONSTITUTION:A rotary shaft 3 is supported on the perfectly circular bearing surface 2 of the body 1 of a journal bearing. A pair of oil supply grooves 5a, 5b are provided on the bearing surface 2 so that the imaginary straight line extending from one oil supply groove to the other is oblique to the horizontal line extending on the axis of the bearing. One oil supply groove 5a is located at a phase lead angle of theta such as 45 deg. from the line of action of the load W on the bearing, with regard to the direction of rotation of the shaft 3. Acording to this constitution, the distribution of pressure of oil film made between the bearing surface 2 and the rotary shaft 3 has two peaks because no high pressure is caused in the oil supply groove 5a. As a result, the pressure of the oil film and the load carrying capacity of the bearing are lowered and the eccentricity ratio of the shaft 3 is increased so that its stability is heightened.

    • PURPOSE:To aim at miniaturizing a double cylinder type pump and as well at simplifying the water extraction of the intermediate stage of the pump, by forming at least one axial extracting passage in an inner casing with one side of the passage being connected to the discharge port of an intermediate stage impeller and the other side thereof being connected to a water extracting passage in an outer casing. CONSTITUTION:An one side water extracting passage 16a among water extracting passages 16a, 16b, 16c... formed in inner casing segments 11a, 11b, 11c... and the other side water extracting passage 16c are connected respectively to an water extracting passage 4a formed in an outer casing 3 and an axial water passage 9c comunicated with the discharge side of an intermediate stage impeller 7c which discharges water at a predetermined pressure. With this arrangement, the water extraction of the intermediate stage may be easily made, and as well it is not necessary to increase the inner diameter of the outer casing 3 in the intermediate stage water extracting section and to change the shape of the outer casing 3. Accordingly, the weight and size of the pump may be aimed at being reduced in its entirety.

    • PURPOSE:To give vibration damping effect to a seal ring, by providing a plurality of leaf springs on the outer circumference of the sealing. CONSTITUTION:Each of the leaf springs 6 fixed on the outer circumference of a seal ring 1 has a projection 6A that is kept and held in a groove 2A formed in a retainer 2 in order to keep its position during operation. As a result, vibration in the normal direction to the shaft axis can be damped while the seal ring 1 can operate in such a condition as not to touch a shaft sleeve 4 even when a rotation speed is low and passing water volume is small, possibly resulting in hardness of formation of water membrane in a small gap between the seal ring 1 and the shaft sleeve 4, because the ring 1 is set in such a condition as being floated by the leaf spring 6.
