    • PURPOSE:To prevent any flooding damage from occurring even in the case where a sudden large scale inflow into an underground tailrace from respective rivers and drainageways is predicted, by installing a movable inflow water rate control device in a conduit leading to a vertical shaft from the rivers and drainageways. CONSTITUTION:Draining taken into three inflow shafts 1, 2, 3 from a river and a drainageway is conducted to an underground tailrace 4, and drainage is made so as to be done into rivers and the sea on the surface of the earth by a pump 7 from a pump #6 installed in a part of an underground tailrace, thus an underdrainage system is constituted. In succession, a movable inflow adjusting device 8 is installed in a conduit leading to inflow shafts 1, 2, 3 from rivers and drainageways. Then an amount of inflow to the underground tailrace 4 from respective rivers and drainageways is adjusted, and the inflow to these inflow shafts 1, 2, 3 from rivers and drainageways is separately adjusted according to the water level and inflow of the rivers and the drainageways.

    • PURPOSE:To maximize the storage effect of a water suction basin in a precedent awaiting operation pump which can be operated at low water levels by providing a vortex prevention device which can prevent generation of vortexes through flow control using suction air and works at below the lowest water level of the water suction basin. CONSTITUTION:An impeller 1 is located below a position corresponding to the lowest water level of a pump water suction basin below which air may be sucked from a suction bell. A plurality of an inlet ports 7 each of which is open to the inner wall surface of a pump casing 2 are provided in the portion of the pump casing 2 beneath the impeller 1. A pipe is provided which is connected at one end to each of the air inlet ports 7 and communicated with atmosphere at the other end. A vortex prevention device 11 is provided which prevents generation of vortexes particularly through flow control using intake air and works at below the lowest water level of the water suction basin. Therefore, the lowest water level up to which drainage operation of the pump is possible can be made lower than in conventional pumps and so the storage effect of the water suction basin can be increased.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save energy by using a gas turbine as driving facility, providing a pump which is driven through a power transmission device of a transmission, and driving a generator through the power transmission device of the transmission to use power generated in this way as electricity for control when there is excess power. SOLUTION: When a pump 10 is driven through a transmission 7 by using a gas turbine 1 as power, a generator 8 generates power in the same way. A transmission 7 inputs power from an output shaft of the gas turbine 1 into a shaft joint 6 and an input shaft 2 of the transmission 7 and transmits power from a gear 5 to an output shaft 3 driven by the pump 10 and an output shaft 4 which drives the generator 8. When load applied on the gas turbine 1 when the operation of the pump 10 is started and stopped is large, a clutch 9 provided on the output shaft 4 is turned off to stop the transmission of power to the generator 8. On the other hand, at the time of normal operation, the clutch 9 is turned on to transmit power to the generator and generate power because load applied on the gas turbine 1 is small.

    • PURPOSE:To form a flow separation region behind a baffle for preventing earth and sand from accumulation in a rainwater draining pump system difficult to provide a sufficient grit chamber in the upstream of a pump installing baffles in proper portions of a pump suction sump and a water supply tank. CONSTITUTION:In a rainwater draining pump system difficult to install a sufficient grit chamber in the upstream of a pump 2, baffles 1 are installed in proper portions of a pump suction sump 4 and a water supply tank. Since the rainwater flowing from a main inflow line 3 has the flow speed abruptly slowed down when reaching the pump suction sump 4, earth and sand are liable to be accumulated. Then, the rainwater is separated by the buffle 1 to form a flow separation region behind the buffle 1 so that the earth and sand are prevented from the accumulating in the separated section. Thus, even in the rainwater draining pump system difficult to install the sufficient grit chamber in the upstream of the pump 2, the accumulated sand in the suction side of the pump 2 can be removed.
