摘要： PURPOSE:To ensure the smooth input of handwritten character strings even at the present recognition rate and especially to evade such a cese where the execution of work is sffected at the destination due to much time needed for input of the handwritten characters by providing a means to discontinue the recognition of handwritten data. CONSTITUTION:A liaison clerk performs a pen input operation at the side of a client by writing characters by means of an input pen 6 in a pen input frame prepared on a display device 3 of a pen input personal computer. When the characters are recognized as desired, a character code is shown in the pen input frame for the result of character recognition by the font prepared in the personal computer. If the handwritten characters are not satisfactorily recognized and the characters must be rewritten in the same input frame, the personal computer is inhibited to recognize the subsequent characters when the characters are rewritten by (n) times in the same input frame, the characters are not recognized by (m) times, or a discontinuing instruction is received for recognition of characters.

Then a shortest estimated balance graph showing a period covering up to the shortest out-of-stock date is displayed together with an estimated balance graph showing a period covering up to the out-of-stock date. The next supply date is read out of the patrol information 107 and displayed against those balance graphs. The out-of-stock date or the shortest out-of-stock date is compared with the next supply date. Then a warning is displayed on a screen when the next supply date is later than the out-of-stock date or the shortest out-of-stock date.
