    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly and simply inspect submerged valves in a core cooling system for emergency with water shut off from a suppression chamber of a nuclear reactor containment vessel in inspecting the cooling system in a nuclear power plant.
      SOLUTION: A suction strainer part of the core cooling system for emergency in a nuclear reactor comprises a pipe 30 for together connecting the interior and exterior of the suppression chamber 3 attached to the nuclear reactor containment vessel, a T-pipe 31 connected to the pipe 30, and a porous body 4 connected to an end of the T-pipe 31. A connecting pipe 1 is connected between the porous body 4 and the T-pipe 31. A closing plate is inserted into a slit 6 provided in the connecting pipe 1 to block a flow path between the porous body 4 and the T-pipe 31 by the closing plate. Such a blockade prevents pooled water in the suppression chamber 3 from flowing into the cooling system for emergency and disassembly and inspection are executed in this state on the submerged valves in the system.

    • PURPOSE:To enable increase in the resistance of a liner plate to an internal pressure load by a method wherein a restriction that a distance to the position of a liner anchor should be 100mm or longer is provided for the position of the liner anchor in the vicinity of an opening reinforcing plate. CONSTITUTION:An opening reinforcing plate 7 is provided in the shape of a disk around a through part 5 and a load applied from the through part 5 is transmitted thereby to a concrete container 2 through the intermediary of a liner anchor 6. This plate has a structure of being thicker sufficiently than a liner plate 3 and rigid. The anchor 6 provided outside the reinforcing plate 7 is installed so that a distance L from the outside diameter of the reinforcing plate 7 to the position of the liner anchor is L=100mm. By providing a restriction for the fitting position of the anchor 6 in this way, a distortion occurring in the plate 2 is mitigated and early breakdown of the plate 3 is prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the easy measurement of the thickness of a plate (steel plate) by a method wherein a hole extending from the surface of concrete to the surface of the plate is provided in the concrete covering the plate. CONSTITUTION:Dry well bottom concrete 5 is deposited in the bottom part of a dry well 2 for a reactor container during the construction of a plant. Prior to the deposition of this concrete 5, a pipe is set as a sleeve 11 opened in both ends. The sleeve 11 is so set that the upper end projects above the surface of the concrete 5 while the lower end contacts with the inner surface of a spherical shell 10 of the lower part of the dry well. The sleeve 11 is set at several representative places of the shell 10 including a place under a pedestal 4 of a reactor pressure vessel. Then, a probe 13 of an ultrasonic thickness meter 12 is made to contact the inner wall surface of the shell 10 to measure the plate thickness of the shell 10. Besides, a flange 15 is provided at the upper end of the sleeve 11, and a closing plate 16 is fitted to the flange 15 with bolts except for the time of measurement, so as to prevent the inflow of water.
