    • PURPOSE:To prevent operator's sleep from being disturbed, by forcibly stopping a fan in the time zone when he falls asleep and controlling turn-on/off of the fan at a low speed in accordance with the temperature in a board in the time zone of sleep following the time zone. CONSTITUTION:A period (b) from a time T2 to a time T3 at night is the time zone when the operator falls asleep. When a forcibly turning-off command 12 (in the high level) is outputted from a schedule generator 3, a control line 15 is set to the low level, therefore, outputs (control lines 17 and 19) of AND elements 7 and 10 go to the low level, and an operation relay 52 and a low- speed operation relay 42 are inactivated to stop a cooling fan 1, then, the operator can fall asleep because the noise is not generated. A period (c) from the time T3 to a time T1 is the time zone of sleep, and the schedule generator 3 does not output a turning-on command neither the forcibly turning-off command then. Therefore, turn-on/off of the cooling fan is automatically controlled in accordance with the detection temperature of a temperature sensor 4.

    • PURPOSE:To continue the use of a display device when a dot LED chip fails without replacing the display device, and prolong the apparent life to minimize costs by rotating the dot LED display device by 90 degrees to the position at which the chip is not used. CONSTITUTION:With a dot LED display device 4, its mounting screw positions 10 and the positions of dot LED chips are arranged in squares, and (a), (b),... and A, B,... are regarded as software addresses. LEDs being in use are indicated by black circles, and it is assumed that B in column (b), and D in column (b) are in use, and B in column (b) fails. When the display 4 is rotated 90 degrees, B in column (b) is moved to a software position B in column (e); when the device is rotated 180 degrees, B in column (b) is moved to E in column (e); when the device is rotated 270 degrees, B in column (b) is moved to E in column (b). At the three positions countermeasures can be taken to prolong the apparent life of the device substantially. At this time, it is necessary, simultaneously, that an IC memory card of a microcomputer for controlling the display device is replaced by another one for a new dot, but the display device can be restored to the normal condition in a short time and at minimum costs compared to replacement of the device.
