    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten injection time by making the length of the injection hole of a liquid crystal display element smaller than the width of a sealing member. SOLUTION: A common electrode, a signal electrode, a pixel electrode or the like, are formed on a substrate, an alignment layer is formed on the top and the surface of the alignment layer is subjected to alignment treatment. A sealant is mixed with an adequate amount of polymer beads, printed on upper and lower substrates with a sealing mask and hardened while pressing the substrates wish a press to bond the substrates. In the resulting liquid crystal display element, spherical polymer beads are held between the substrates, the sealant 11 is disposed on the peripheral parts of the substrates in a liquid crystal sealed state and a liquid crystal injection hole 10 capable of injecting a liquid crystal is made in part of one minor side. The rubbing angle of the liquid crystal display element is adjusted, e.g. to 15 deg. to the minor sides and the upper and lower substrates are made parallel or substantially parallel. The width of the liquid crystal injection hole 10 is, e.g. 30 mm, the length of the hole 10 is 1 mm and the width of the seal is 1.5 mm.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the liquid crystal injection time which affects mass productivity and to prevent the air bubbles and the unequal thicknesses of liquid crystal layers which affect image quality and the change of a liquid crystal compsn. which affects optical characteristics. SOLUTION: Liquid crystals are injected into liquid crystal elements 4 having spacings between two substrates in this method. The liquid crystal elements 4 provided with at least one piece of injection ports in the liquid crystal elements 4 and a liquid crystal tray 1 in which the liquid crystals are contained are put into an evacuatable vessel 6. The injection ports of the liquid crystal elements 4 are immersed into the liquid crystals in the liquid crystal tray 1 in the state of discharging the air from the inside of the vacuum vessel 6 and thereafter, the atm. pressure is restored in the vacuum vessel 6 to inject the liquid crystals into the spacings of the liquid crystal elements 4. At this time, the liquid crystal tray 1 is heated and the warmed liquid crystals are injected into the spacings of the liquid crystal elements 4.
