    • PURPOSE: To feed seed molds sterily without fear of biohazard, by attaching a specific mold feed pot unit to a fermentation tank, sterilizing a mold feed line with steam, pressurizing the mold feed pot with sterilized air, and feeding the seed mold to the fermentation tank by pressure.
      CONSTITUTION: The mold feed pot unit A consisting of the previously sterilized mold feed pot 2, the top cover 15, the pressing valve 3, the T joint 17, the valves 4 and 5, the by-pass line 6, and the couplers 7, 8, and 9 is safely put in a cabinet, the coupler 7 is taken off, the top cover 15 is removed, the valves 3 and 4 are closed, a seed mold is put in the pot 2, the cover 15 is fixed to it, the unit A is taken out from the cabinet, and the couplers 7, 8, and 9 are connected to the line 6, the mold feed line 16, and the steam and serilized air feed line 14, respectively. The mold feed line 16 is sterilized with steam from the line 14 through the couplers 9 and 7, the line 6, the valve 5, the drain valve 10, and the drain valve 11, sterilized air is cooled, the valves 5 and 10 are closed, the valve 3 is opened, the sterilized air is fed to the pot 2, and the seed molds in the pot 2 are fed to the fermentation tank 1 by pressure.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a mechanical stirring type air-liquid contacting system enabled to obtain a sufficiently high air-liquid contacting efficiency even of non-Newtonian fluids by applying the function of a porous plate type gas stirring tank. CONSTITUTION:In this mechanical stirring type air-liquid contacting system comprising stirring blades 3 attached in a plural number of steps on a stirring shaft 2, the air fed through the blast pipe 5 in the lower part of tank body 1 is finely diffused by the lower ones of said stirrng blades 3, raised by the mixture liquid flow generated by the revolution of said lower stirring blades and discharged outside of system through an air discharge pipe 8. Porous plates 6 each with a short cylinder are fitted between said upper and lower stirring blades 3 and on the upper part of the upper ones of said stirring blades 3 by means of supporting rod 7 or the like. Thereby, rising bubbles are atomized again by said porous plates 6 after or when combined and the ones combined again after passing through said porous plates 6 are atomized by said stirring blades 3 so that air-liquid contact area and mixation stirring efficiency increase.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the concentration of chlorine ion, to economize the latent heat of evaporation of water, and to prevent the steam hammering at the cooling stage, by maintaining the pressure in a cooling coil placed in a fermentor to a value sufficiently high to keep the water liquid, during the heating stage. CONSTITUTION:A fermentor 1 is provided with a cooling coil 2, through which cooling water flows via an inlet 3, outlet 4 and a valve 6, during the cultivation. After the completion of the cultivation, the valve 5 is closed to stop the flow of the cooling water, the cultivation liquid is discharged from the fermentor 1, the fermentor is cleaned, and then fresh cultivation medium is charged into the fermentor. During the sterilization of the medium by introducing steam thereto, the valve 6 is closed and the valve 7 is opened, thereby discharging the expanded water in the coil 2 through a pressure regulating valve 8. The setting pressure of the valve 8 is selected to keep the water liquid at the highest temperature during the sterilization process.
