摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device which has lead-around wires having small shading unevenness while the area use efficiency of the lead-around wires is high. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has electrodes 21 to 28 which are wired in parallel on a substrate 12 holding a liquid crystal layer, terminals 31 to 38 which are led out to an end part of the substrate 12 and connected to a driving element, and lead-around wires which connect the electrodes 21 to 28 and terminals 31 to 38. The electrodes 21 to 28 and terminals 31 to 38 are different in pitch and electrically connected by the lead-around wires. Straight wires 11 to 18 are provided not in parallel to the electrodes 21 to 28 and the straight wires 11 to 18 are nearly parallel to one another.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bright liquid crystal display device with high efficiency for light utilization, high color purity and less power consumption. SOLUTION: This device is constituted of provided with a pair of liquid crystal substrates 3 whose oppositely arranged at least one side is provided with an electrode, a liquid crystal panel consisting of a liquid crystal layer 4 held between them, a pair of polarizing plates 1 arranged so as to hold the liquid crystal panel between them and a control means for applying a voltage according to a display image signal to the electrode. In such a case, filters 9 of complementary colors of the three primary colors of light are arranged at every pixel in the inside of the liquid crystal panel, and the control means applies an effective voltage according to the display image signal to the electrode so that a major axial direction of an elliptic polarization component of any one of the complementary colors of the three primary colors of the light caused by birefringence coincides nearly with the transmission axial direction of the polarizing plate 1 arranged on an observation side.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce shadowing caused by waveform dullness of driver output by outputting an arbitrary voltage by which waveform dullness is caused in the case of an output terminal in which a driver output waveform is not changed. SOLUTION: In a driver output waveform SEG2 in which the same data are continued, since the same data such as ruled lines are continued as compared with a driver output waveform SEG1 displaying the background of a halftone display, a correction is performed in order to reduce a luminance difference caused in the background due to waveform dullness in the SEG1. That is, an arbitrary voltage VM is outputted (d's) as the driver output waveform of the SEG2 for a fixed time according to a correction signal CC1 by detecting that same data are continuously outputted in the SEG2. Thus, effective voltages to be impressed on liquid crystal are made almost equal to each other in all screen regardlessly of display data by causing waveform dullness is an output waveform whose output waveform is not changed and is which waveform dullness is hardly caused by this correction.
