    • PURPOSE:To decrease thermal stress of a rotor, by warming up the front stages group of a high pressure turbine and keeping the rear stages group of this high pressure turbine to be vacuum, during the start of an intermediate pressure turbine, in the starting method for a reheat turbine, which is constituted as starting the high pressure turbine after starting the intermediate pressure turbine. CONSTITUTION:At the start of a turbine, steam is fed from a steam pipe 28 into the steam chamber 29 of an intermediate pressure turbine 50, and most of this steam is led out to a low pressure turbine through a connecting pipe 51, as being expanded in the stages of the intermediate pressure turbine. On the other hand, a part of the steam is led into a steam chamber 41 through such as a space between the stationary blade 210 at the first stage of the intermediate pressure turbine and a packing case 40, and sent to a warming up steam valve 75 through routes 101-104. Then, this steam is led to the first stage 10a of a high pressure turbine 10 through routes 74-70, so as to perform warming up by this steam, and after that, this steam is exhausted to a condensate route through a ventilator valve 85 and a steam pipe 87. At this time, the inside of the high pressure turbine 10 is kept vacuum, and flowing of the outside air into this turbine 10 is prevented by labyrinth packings 303a-303c.

    • PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the thermal efficiency of a steam turbine, by disposing a high temperature side pipe line in a low temperature side pipe line communicated with a seal steam chamber for heat-exchange therebetween. CONSTITUTION:A high temperature side pipe line 35' is fitted into a through-hole 30 which is formed in a packing case 51 for partitioning between seal steam chambers 50a, 50b. A low temperature side pipe line 43' is fitted in a hole 70 communicated with the seal steam chamber 50b. The diameter of the low temperature side pipe line 43' is larger than that of the high temperature side pipe line 35' which is therefore disposed in the former. With this arrangement heat which is recovered by the shaft seal device may have a higher temperature, thereby it is possible to enhance the thermal efficiency of the turbine.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform interchange optionally between a throttling speed governing system and a nozzle cut-out speed governing system, by constructing the flow control valve of a turbine, with mechanical cams which have two kinds of flow peculiarities, two hydraulic pilot valves and one driving unit. CONSTITUTION:The speed governing device of a steam turbine is constructed with mechanical cams 12a-12h which have two kinds of flow peculiarities, two hydraulic pilot valves 15g, 15h and one common driving unit 36. The hydraulic pilot valves 15g, 15h are arranged in series, and it is performed that a throttling speed governing system and a nozzle cut-out speed governing system are interchanged to each other, by stopping the operation of the combined cam/pilot valve, which have one kind of flow peculiarity, (such as the cam 12h and the pilot valve 15h) when the other combined cam/pilot valve, which have the other kind of flow peculiarity, (the cam 12g and the valve 15g) are operated.

    • PURPOSE:To have automatic stop of a rotary machine at the time of shaft breakage by furnishing pressure switches with different set values in a discharge system of a main oil pump mounted on the shaft of the rotary machine and by actuating the emergency stop device of the same when the discharge pressure sinks below the set pressure values of both switches. CONSTITUTION:Two pressure switches 1, 2 are installed at the discharge oil pipe 9 of a main oil pump 10 driven by the main 17 of a turbine 19. These switches are so set that one 1 will be off with the oil pressure below P1 while the other 2 off with the oil pressure exceeding P3, where P3 is higher than P1, and when both switches are off, a relay 20 is actuated to put an emergency shutoff valve 21 in service in order to close a stop valve 22. Off conditions of the two switches are normally not overlapped, but an abrupt drop of the oil pressure because of breakage will not permit the sensing pressure of the switch to sink so quickly through the action of an orifice 8 and oil chamber 7, so that both switches are turned off and a relay 21 is actuated to cause emergency stop of the turbine.
