    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell stack that has superior output characteristics and possible to downsize.
      SOLUTION: End plates 2 imposed with a prescribed amount of deflection are applied on upper and lower sides of a plurality of laminated fuel cells 1, and the end plates 2 are flattened by adding a load by arranging a pair of springy flattening jig 8 on opposing sides of the end plates, by the above, respective fuel cells are clamped in a state of being pressed by an uniform face pressure. It is preferable that the springy flat plate jig 8 is provided with a width w roughly equal to the length b of the edge board 2 and is given a waving work from a viewpoint of adding uniform face pressure. The flexural rigidity can be made uniform by arranging a thick wall part 9 which is a member to compensate the reduced amount of rigidity by the existence of respective holes 4, 5, 6, 7.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the critical temperature and the critical current density by using an oxide superconductor as a core, and covering its periphery with silver or a silver alloy. CONSTITUTION:As the material of a sheath 2 for an oxide superconductor 1, silver or a silver alloy is used. Since oxygen is fed suffeciently to the oxide superconductor for a core when it is in a sintering heat-treatment, the deterioration of the property after the sintering heat-treatment is not generated even though it is used as covered with the sheath. Since the electric conductibility and thermal conductibility of silver itself is good, an oxide superconductor with a stabilized silver or silver alloy can be provided, and the critical temperature and the critical current density are improved extensively. The melting point of silver or the silver alloy is below 960 deg.C, and the sintering temperature is made also below 920 to 930 deg.C. In this case, as the oxide superconductor, an oxide superconductor including a layer-form perovskite structure or a perovskite structure ceramics of such as Y-Ba-Cu-O, Er-Ba-Cu-O, or Yb-Ba-Cu-O is used. In such a composition, it can be used as a superconductor even under the liquid nitrogen condition.

SOLUTION: The fuel battery where a plurality of electric cells are laminated via a conductive separator comprises a plurality of manifolds disposed in the conductive separator and a plurality of hollow cylinders inserted into the manifolds. The conductive separator has, on at least one surface, a groove forming a flow passage for supplying the fuel or oxidant to the electric cells or discharging it from the electric cells.
