摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce the characteristic frequency of a brake lining so as to damp the vibration of a brake shoe by friction loss between the brake lining and brake shoe by providing one face of the brake lining with slits formed in the axial direction of an axle, and jointing this face to a brake shoe so as to be fixed rigidly. CONSTITUTION:A brake lining 1 is adjusted in such a way as to reduce the bending characteristic frequency by forming plural slits 1b at an inner face 1a so as to have the value close to the characteristic frequency of a brake shoe 2. Accordingly, when the brake shoe 2 and brake lining 1 are vibrated, the minute dislocation between them is enlarged, and friction loss is enlarged between them. The vibrational energy is absorbed by this friction loss to damp the vibration of the brake shoe 2, and thus the clatter of a brake is prevented. The characteristic frequency of the brake lining 1 can be adjusted by selecting the number of slits formed on the brake lining 1 to prevent the clatter of the brake.

摘要： PURPOSE:To damp vibrations on a rim and a web and prevent a brake shoe from making a brake noise by bringing a friction member into contact with either the internal circumference surface of the rim or with the web and fixing the friction member thereto. CONSTITUTION:Braking force is applied to a wheel by pressing a brake lining 6 fitted to a brake shoe 5 on the internal circumferential surface of a brake drum. On this occasion, a friction member 8 is brought into contacted with either the internal circumference surface of a rim 5a of the brake shoe 5 or with a web 5b and be fixed thereto. Vibrations on the rim 5a and the web 5b are thereby prevented.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent vibration and to effectively prevent squeak without bad influence on brake performance with a simple constitution by attaching a brake lining to a brake shoe via a thin tabular damping material. CONSTITUTION:A thin tabular damping material 11 is fixed with rivets 12 to the outer periphery of the rim 6c of a brake shoe 6 made of steel and having a web 6d fixed to the rim 6c, and a brake lining 13 is jointed to the outer periphery of the damping material 11 with adhesive agent. Therefore, it is possible to damp vibration of the brake shoe 6 with simple constitution and to effectively prevent squeaking without bad influence on brake performance.
