摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a real image or virtual image and to improve the picture quality of a reproduced image by providing 1st and 2nd specific multipliers and reproducing an image of a body with the signal generated by adding the output signal of the 1st multiplier and the output signal of the 2nd multiplier while giving a specific phase difference between them. SOLUTION: A 1st multiplier 25 which cosine codes the output signal of a photodetector and a 2nd multiplier 28 which sine codes the output signal are provided, and 1st and 2nd spatial modulators where image information on the body is recorded on the basis of the output signals of the multipliers 25 and 28 are provided. Then a phase unit 27 generates a phase difference of π/2+2nπ between a read light beam modulated by the 1st spatial optical modulator and a read light beam modulated by the 2nd spatial optical modulator and a body image reproducing device 55 puts the read light beams which are modulated by the 1st and 2nd modulators together to reproduce the image of the body, thereby eliminating a double image.

摘要： PURPOSE:To lighten and simplify the constitution of a moving part of the titled pickup and to shorten access time by providing, to a lens part, a lens having a member made of a material which varies its refractive index and mechanically deforms by an external signal. CONSTITUTION:The objective lens part is provided with a lens having the member made of the material which varies its refractive index or mechanically deforms due to an external signal. For instance, the objective lens part 30 is constituted integrally of a microlens 31 made of glass or plastic, a lens 32 of variable focal length, and an optical beam deflector 33 that are combined with each other. Normally, for a pickup device for a compact disk, a lens whose focal length is, f=5mm approximately, is used and the focus control needs to be performed within a range of 1mm. Therefore, a microlens 31 whose focal length f0=5mm is used in combination with the lens 32 and the focal length of the lens 32 is set at 20mm in order that the combination of the lenses 31 and 32 gives a focal distance of, f=4mm, i.e. the focal distance (f) is made shorter by 1mm.

Then, the electrooptic crystal 33 is irradiated by a laser light source 4 to obtain the OR operation result between the images in light transmitted through a polarizer 10.
